Thread regarding Crown Castle International Corp. layoffs

That. Was. Awful.

No logical reason given for any of the moves. It has been wild seeing all decorum go out the window. I've never been less confident in the decision making abilities of the EMT.

It is chaos. None of their reasons make sense and it is clear they don't want to tell the truth.

All they do is side step answers with "as of right now" blah blah blah. Its all just an out for them.

As a shareholder I'd find this all concerning. None of this has been thought through unless something drastic like selling is soon to happen.

Never was a great anything, wasn't even a great accountant. But he was an all-time great a-s kisser.

JB may have been a great CFO but indisputably a horrible, horrible CEO. There's way more required.

Let's be honest @1rcu+1pepiSVb. CP and DS didn't really resign. Multiple people have mentioned seeing CP escorted out of the building. They were shown the door, just with a more extravagant severance package than the rest of us.

@1csx+1pepiSVb Get as far away from this company as possible. The resignation of the COO of Towers and the CFO in less than four months is telling. It's not the sign of a healthy company, and what we're actually being told is far, far worse. Fifteen to 20% of the company was laid of permanently laid off in July (about 900 people) with numerous other departures. With a little over 3900 employees remaining, 2600 employees represents less-than-skeleton-crew levels. They cannot even maintain day-to-day support for towers, landowners, and customers. Crown will never recover that lost knowledge, and the EMT seems to be OK with that. They have said as much.

The company has a huge, immediate cash problem, yet still wants to pay out an increasing dividend. For the past several years, it has been reorg after reorg, as the EMT rearranges the furniture while complaining about the pattern of the upholstery. Save yourself a lot of trouble and avoid this carcass of a once-great company. Chances are the CEO will leave because this "relocation" masquerading as a layoff will be the straw that finally breaks the purple camel's back.

The glory days are over. People are just now coming to terms with the reality of that.

I’m very sorry to all being affected by this move. Considering how recent all this is, I’m not sure if this is the right time to ask. But I have a potential job offer. And I’m genuinely curious. What functions does the Houston office do vs Southpointe?

MK, CL, DS, and Ted conducted the Townhell meeting where all of Southpointe learned the company is relocating them to Houston for no reason other than "bigger city" and that the risk of total chaos was worth it.

Any other office that isn't in a regional hub be warned.

I'm tired, but I gotta know. Based on the posts so far, I assume that the beast (JB) and the false prophet (LN) weren't there. Just who were the four horsemen of the apocalypse sent to destroy a quarter of the employees?

We did this job for nearly 2 years remote.

Now we have to move to Houston for uhhh umm uhhh.... we don't have any data to back it up and umm.... its not for the tax reasons and its going to cost us $100mm ...but umm... reasons.

Also anyone who says the office in Houston is empty is insane. I mean we have 400 people there! I know it holds like idk 1000 more and has like 13 floors but still its not empty its just mostly empty.

We totally want everyone to move down to Houston and if everyone accepts we might need a second building...which would cause us to not be able to fully collaborate...so maybe we could spend more money and build some sort of connection thingy.... maybe a connector of sorts... and then we could walk between the buildings without getting wet when it rains.

Genius.

They're restructuring literally every year. They don't think think them thru, they find out before they're done they're headed in the wrong direction and then back to the drawing board. They won't be able to do that this time.

Not sure who it is that is restructure happy but, no, not the answer. If they want a functional company they need some serious BS. We used to have bs s that resolved employee issues. The bickering and the nepotism has run rampant. NS is not protecting the company they've destroyed it.

Get out now! Something big is coming that does not benefit your longevity as an employee.

I found it very hard to listen to those answers and continue to trust in the EMT and our company.
