Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Surplus

Just received an email from one of the union financial planners for associates. Appears a surplus was declared today in NYC. Don't know the numbers but definitely inline with previous posts regarding late October notifications of layoffs.

they cannot surplus field tech if they are hiring 1800 techs within the next 3 yrs ,so field tech positions will not be in surplus, even if there is a surplus and you have very little work.I'm sure the company would love to surplus the field techs.most will stay til the end of the contract 2026
