My director says 5G Core Network team mess and their delays are behind Verizon’s failure and T-Mobile success. Is it true?

Big red was too distracted by AOL, Yahoo, Go 90, DEI groups, Blue jeans, Millpad, Hum, Palm, Culottes, and all that other jazz to give thr proper attention to what was important.

When you rely on an accountant from a foreign wireless parts manufacturer and a paid consultant to plan and lead your new '5G' technology and implementation based on a decade-old paper from Europe - why would anyone think that could work?

This was the craziest move in the history of the company. I remember when they were demonstrating how they would be able to 'beam' 5G into apartment buildings etc only to find out the mm waves have difficulty permeating walls and could even be impacted by rain or snow.

This was the most unthought-out plan ever engaged in by the company; a company that once sent Apple packing with their iPhone over to AT&T and still came out on top. What we have now is an 'aspirational team' attempting to lead the company, but not one of them knows how to make money in this market.

Just saying.

Vz spent too much time and capital early on deploying true 5G (mmwave) while the other carriers focused on “4 1/2G” bands like c band, etc. Vz got into the c band late and are paying for it now.

I think what she said is true. Others have launched it years ago our 5G team is clueless and have no expertise and no appetite to hear out other experts.

There’s so many mistakes with 5G!! The only thing holding the company together is wireline.

We are definitely really behind on getting our network up and running. I know for my area, it was supposed to have been done a year ago and yet here we are with the worst signal possible. We are talking about miles of dead spots, areas where there is a large population and yet we can't deliver on something so simple. If they were not ready for 5G, they should have left the LTE antennas up and running until they could complete the coverage.

Wireless leases fiber from 1F. So Verizon owns assets then claims that lease cost on taxes that are already owned and paid for. pretty genius.

1 fiber(VZ) is the drag. T-mobile has no landline. And for all those that will say you can't do wireless without fiber...its true, but you can lease it. 1fiber started 10 years to late. Other companies started laying fiber 20+ years ago.
