Pushed to 11/9

Heard RIF was pushed to 11/9. Anyone here anything different?

VZ typically handles WARN by filing after employees are notified but with enough time to spare.

The 183 in NJ for June, they were notified 5/24. Feel free to spot check any other filings, you’ll see the pattern.

The 183 was for NJ only. If under 50 in other states then no filing required.

An abundant more about of layoffs contrasting the 3rd party website which renders the numbers of state-based WARN Notice filings by the employer.

All those 4/2022 notice dates for layoffs over a decade ago give a useful headsup right? Somehow companies do it in such a way to avoid needing a warn notice as we have had far more than the 183 people noted laid off this year.

Save yourself from stress. Link to warn notices filed around the country

No RIF is happening in November. Company did not file a WARN notice which has to be filed 60 days in advance of when the notification goes into effect. In addition, CA, NJ, TN & NY require 90 days notice. You can see them filing in advance like they did in June which took effect in August. All this speculation without even looking at laws. Save yourself from the stress. Just look at the laws in your state and then see if the company filed the notice.

Just stop it!!! An all employee webcast is an ALL employee webcast, not a sign that you will be RIFed!!! GN&T’s webcast with Russo is scheduled for the 7th!

If you don’t have the all employee webcast does that mean you are or are not part of a RIF?

What time was the all employee webcast? I don't have it on my calendar, maybe it's only certain work groups, which could mean that the layoff on 11/9 is true? Who knows, I sure don't.

I mentioned in an earlier post that there would be no RIF in October. They are dumping over 5000 of us to HCL on Nov 1. Now once we are gone, I expect a very large RIF to occur on 11/22.

FAKE NEWS!!!

If a company lays off a lot of employees right after reporting “exceptional” 3Q results, it looks a bit suspicious. They don’t want to attract any auditors.

Looks like you made their point for them. Where there's a will there's a way.

"also to the poster below saying we should've gotten tuition assistance some of us work overtime, no way to go to school with 60-70 hour work weeks.."

That is where on-line school is a big help
Did my MBA online at a well known big Univ and it paid off quite well over the years.
Look around, there are a lot more options than when I did it in mid-2000's

Typical for this forum. Hype and predictions don't come true so they keep pushing and pushing the predicted week out until one day it is correct.

11/9 pushes the final paperwork week to Thanksgiving and no one wants to deal with that.

Just keep moving the goalposts.

If you got the all employee webcast on 11/7 you will be RIFd on 11/9.

What does the all employee webcast on 11/7 have to do with RIFs on 11/9?

With the tuition assistance and webinars VZ offers, it's your own fault if you've been here any length of time and haven't gotten any new skills.
I kind of hope you and people like you end up working nights and weekends at Mickey D's. It's survival of the fittest in progress. The weak, lazy and unintelligent fall by the wayside.

I’m sure glad there wasn’t a layoff. I make an outstanding salary but have absolutely zero skills. I didn’t really want to flip burgers for a living.
