Ford gutted ICE engineering. Good job Bill and Farley. Now you have bunny slippers to show for billions flushed

leader predicts Toyota going out…

I honestly can't tell who is more delusional Farley or the commentator from the video.

Toyota's going to go bankrupt before Ford huh?

A good article regarding Toyoda's thoughts on all EV all the time, most probably from the original YouTube

https://www.westernjournal.com/toyota-chairman-hesitant-embrace-electric-vehicles-says-people-finally-seeing-reality/?utm_source=site&utm_medium=MSN&utm_campaign=syndication&utm_content=2023-10-25

I thought this statement was very concise and showed an understanding of the market and the customer base. Seems much better than Bill's "red states su-k" statement.

....
Toyoda reiterated that he does not believe all-electric vehicles will be adopted as quickly as policy regulators and competitors think, due to a variety of reasons," the outlet reported. "He cited lack of infrastructure, pricing and how customers’ choices vary region to region as examples of possible roadblocks.

@uzt+1phyZBPD yeah there are just so many bad decisions right? the mach-e contactor business is like a kid-stuff fail. under-spec a critical path component? it's just a fancy relay, they've been making them since tommy edison's days. embarassing. that's what happens when you get rid of too many durability tests on that big old test track in dearburn.

I also have my "I told you so" moment, but this time, I reserved it for myself. I was part of a group of engineers that questioned publicly the stupid decisions from the "top floor", sometimes in front of our managers. However, after so many mistakes and awful decisions from BF and his last CEO acolites, I lost interest in keeping track. I knew one day they would realize their mistakes, or go brankrupt, because reality always win at the end.

At this point, I don't give a sh-t about the company. I moved on mentally. That now the press is acknowledging what many of us knew years ago doesn't make me feel happy, nor sad. I'd like to see FMC survive these blunders, but if not, I won't be upset. Maybe I'll feel sorry for the NA employees, if any of them is left after all the layoffs.
