WTF??

Vice Chairman Thomas R. Nides to Leave Wells Fargo and William M. Daley to Return to Prior Role

Are you telling me Charlie can’t run this bank without a Public Affairs Consultant?? It was Daley who roped us into donating $60 Million to an anti-recidivism program run by the ex-CEO of WFA (Hmmm…..) How is this helping our all-important cost-cutting and efficiency ratio?

i propose we take the money directly out of Charlie’s compensation for every bs schmoozer he hires.

I get that Nides is leaving because of very unique circumstances, which may not be a reflection of his experience with the company.

But doesn’t it seem very odd that BD is being pulled back out of “retirement” as a result?

Charlie wrote that it was BD’s own decision to retire, but now it seems more like they found someone better politically connected. This didn’t work out due to external factors, so they are scrambling and inviting BD to come back until they can figure out what to do.

It’s obvious that they want a politician to lead our public affairs, even though that hasn’t worked out well so far.

I've just realized, if you put a letter "T" between Wells and Fargo, it will make "WTF".

Dang paywalls...sigh right-click...view source code...

"Tom Nides, who started as a vice chairman at Wells Fargo last month, is resigning to focus on the events unfolding in Israel. Nides, the U.S. ambassador to Israel until this summer, joined the San Francisco bank to run its public affairs group and work alongside the leaders of its business units. He joined right around the time of the Ha--s attack on Israel, reporting to CEO Charlie Scharf. Nides plans to instead work with the UJA Federation in New York, as well as several Middle East organizations, the bank said in a statement. “Watching the horrific events unfold in Israel and Gaza these past few weeks have had a profound effect on me, in ways that I could not have imagined," Nides said in the statement. Bill Daley, who was set to retire as vice chairman of public affairs, will return to his role until a replacement is found."

Anyone is better than the previous guy Jim Rowe. Glad it is Daley and not him.

It clearly said in the article that the government called him back to his previous job because if the war. I don’t think you can say no to Uncle Sam.

That one nutcase just can’t get Bill Daley out of his head. He must have a google alert setup so he can run here the instant there’s a BD update 😂

Considering new guy was going to get paid millions for doing hardly anything, it's pretty insulting that he's bailing before he even started. Great hire Chainsaw. Maybe the guy saw a little of what was happening here and couldn't in good conscious join this "leadership" team.

Bill Daley is a POS and his policies during the Covid era led to hundreds of employees getting their offices ransacked and their items stolen.
