Thread regarding Ford layoffs

How many months before next layoffs?

Stock is in the toilet, morale is garbage, when is the next layoff?

SIRP's are coming. JF is waiting to get UAW contract under the wraps before quietly every division starts SIRP'ing personnel. No Global SITP day, more likely some divisions start before Thx Giving and others before Christmas break.
JF is happy that he will have a chance to get rid off as many people as possible blaming UAW contracts for that. Now, all those with pensions will be gone. Exceptions will be as usual LL's but GSR's will be SIRP'ed

Ford makes you take all these mandatory training classes to beat into your head that Ford has processes and that you have to follow the “process”.

But when it comes to involuntary terminations, they throw their own process out the window. Why have quarterly performance reviews telling you that you’re doing fine and then give you a raise because they value your skills so much, then can your keister with no explanation?

The Dearborn hunting day holiday will have a new meaning this year.
While the GSRs are sitting in their deer blinds, the LLs will be busy firing them.

I would be very surprised if they came prior to year end. Who knows for sure. We only know one will come.

@ags+1piNIR8C I disagree. Many Ford employees were doing important work, had a great relationship with their managers and coworkers, work over 40 hours a week and they were doing their best, but ended laid off because they had pensions, or high salaries or were selected so FMC would not be accused of discrimination.

At this point in time, nothing matters. The ones doing the layoffs don't even know the people, nor the work these are doing. The layoff list is cooked higher than LL5s. Almost no GSR have a direct relation with the LL4 level or higher.

It is about luck, so why work hard or over 40 hours a week? I do my job, and that's it. If I am getting kicked out, that's fine. If not, fine too.

Your guess is as good as mine buddy. It sure does seem like the industry as a whole is slowing. Maybe some better questions to ask are: do I have a good professional relationship with my boss, does it seem like my job is of importance and adds value to Ford and am I putting in my best effort every day. Plus if any of these things aren’t in good shape what are you doing to improve them? Beyond that, imo, the timing and choosing for layoffs is almost impossible to predict. I think your best bet is to focus on what you can control and try not to sweat the rest.

@nhp you cut 80% of the 93 “executives” and ineffective members of the BOD, including everyone with Ford in their name and Farley.

Where and Who do you cut that can get you the required cost reductions required?? How can they possibly get it done and still function?
