Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

In the Office Today

Decided to stay, as I have an event in the city tonight. Office was mostly empty by 3:30 with three guys left in the office on calls. By 4:30 I was the last person standing. RTO is a joke. There are many of my peers who live near that I never see in the office.

I collaborated with the building security guy today and we compared notes on his 2024 health insurance options and AT&T's. The security guard's health benefits for 2024 are better than AT&T's :(

Yes, RTO is a joke. Some orgs do 3 days, some still oddly get to TW, and some are 5 days. Some folks come in sporadically, some folks have never been seen. Some folks were laid off for not moving to Dallas, but some folks were offered positions to protect them from moving.

Fact is, one thing is consistent and equal - no one gives a sheeet anymore.

So looks like now all anti vaxers are anti RTO. Keep wining. Nobody listens. RTO and covid vaccine have lots in common. Both are useless. At some point RTO will be a history.

"When we run out of TP, we have refillable spray bottles that we fill with water. Just take one with you in the stall for number 2. When done use the spray bottle like you would a bidet. It's very economical and solves the problem of no TP. Why not give it a try in your location? "

WTF? I'm not gonna ho-o wash my a$$ with a used ketchup bottle like some kinda slob just so I can got back and sit with a wet crack for hours and get trenchfoot on my taint. Humanity was a mistake. F that I'm going home.

How about stankey pony up .25 cents for some more of that CVS receipt sized toilet paper they usually have since this was his damn stupid idea.

I agree with the OP: RTO is a joke!

However you look at it, it’s another Failed launch for ATT

Op: Why are you so stupid to post your office is empty early afternoon? Why would you let management know that to harass employees further? Mind your own business and uses some common sense if you have any.

No one is coming. How can the offices be full. If someone does come in the show up at 10:00, go to lunch, and then leave at three. We need better enforcement. Pay someone extra to be the monitor of building.

We are months into RTO. I am still seeing references to a lack of seating but never is a location provided. Honestly I cannot understand why you folks are going in. It has been stated numerous times if there is not enough seating you call your manager and return home.

Post from below—- “ Since most buildings don’t have enough desks, chairs or conferences rooms or parking, common sense has set in.” These comments make me laugh. Here we have an individual who likely reports to a single office stating “most buildings don’t have….” How do you know? This is simply not true. If it were, this site would be full of people constantly complaining.

OP here. Funny how people equate an observation to being a “hall monitor “. I honestly don’t care what you do, and I don’t narc on anyone. I was sharing an observation. I made no claim as to whether I like or hate RTO. If anything, I stated clearly that RTO is a joke. Some of you are wound up tighter then a tick and more angsty than a group of 15 year olds.

How about there's not enough desks for everyone plus morning commutes are bad so many of us get into office well before 9. At our hub if you're not in by 8 am on certain days you have to sit at a barstool in the break room. All this to translate for you Hall Monitor: some of us that leave 'early' aren't. Want to be a thorough monitor start your monitoring shift at 6am. Me and the security guard will already be there.

Has this company now sunk so low people are concerned with body counts that we now have the school narc hall monitor from those days in school monitoring movement in the halls???? Thought we were long past high school

RTO is slowly dying. When everyone was threatened many showed up for 2 to 3 days and left by lunch or soon afterwards. Since most buildings don’t have enough desks, chairs or conferences rooms or parking, common sense has set in. Now from where I sit the RTO types may show up once a week and will be gone before noon.
Since plan b isn’t reducing employee expenses I suspect more benefits will be cut and more customers will become p I s s ed.

Hmmm, you decided to stay….this is suggests what you observed was a first for you because you are normally the first to leave. You only saw it because you decided to “stay” tonight. The fact the office was empty suggests you are normally gone by that time.

In a hub location and the office is so empty by 5 that I wave my arms to keep the lights on. I don’t leave early because it’s just easier to finish rather than going home and logging back in. I definitely work later when I am home. Complete joke and i still do almost all ‘collaboration’ over Teams. It’s a running joke among my colleagues.

Who the freak cares? People coming in, nothing in RTO states HAVE to be in office 8 hours. Only that we "must return to the office 3-5 days a week". So most people I know come in, leave before 8 hours, go home and plug back in and continue to work. So WTF lighten up Scrooge

Do you have a COU device, guess what? GPS or cellular tracking is easy with the right embedded software. You are tracked!

They only track badge in, there is no badge out. If they really wanted to track when people leave they could and maybe one day they will/try.

You didn’t say where you work, but if I could leave early and avoid rush hour traffic I would. Staying to be scene is a waste of time in my humble opinion. i keep my laptop connected all the time at home as new guidelines allow for up to five days of connectivity before severing connection. I work slightly more hours now than when going to office full time but i enjoy the flexibility and don’t mind checking emails at 10pm. Maybe I’m d-mb…

I left at 4, back online at 5 and still working at 7:30pm. And I started at 7am before driving in. Reason for leaving before 5 is Halloween. Kids start early.

I know of several who worked through lunch and then left early because it's Halloween. I've also already seen them log back in when they got home about an hour later. Lighten up, Ebeneezer.
