Did anything ever come of this? Have there been layoffs for aero in the twin cities?

I didn’t say they were selling aerospace. Just the building and then they’re going to relocate to a lower wage market. With less taxes, and a right to work state.

It’s really sad that people in Minnesota. Don’t believe that they can relocate the Minneapolis location. If they’re already talking about not matching a 401(k) in order to make more money. Why not move high buck regions to low cost regions. So maybe you need to check your facts.

Don’t assume that you’re safe in Minnesota. if I remember my facts correctly, you have 15 to 16 Honeywell locations in Minnesota. Now you have two.

Let's enter reality. If they're moving a production line or division, these people have to be trained.

We are hiring. The people they bring in are from other Honeywell locations. They have a badge and since we're one big happy family. Will train in our replacement and if they love overtime. Then we get turned on.

They did this at Honeywell Golden valley. They all worked overtime together. Since they were really fast and learned quick and loved their overtime. We had no problem training them in.

It was all about our matrix. These people help me get promoted. We should say demoted.

They are remodeling the Olathe Kansas Aerospace location, and apparently adding more work lines, and opening up the upstairs for more desk space. I automatically assumed they’re closing a facility somewhere else, and moving production lines in, because they’re doing quite a lot to remodel, and one of the managers in the building stated some big changes were coming, but with a look of concern? So what’s the tea?

Interesting. When they were trying to offload the Aero Tempe facility, they did absolutely nothing to upgrade it. They only tried to fix the ancient elevators because people kept getting stuck in them. They were hoping someone would be more interested in the prime real estate than the dilapidated building. Ultimately they were correct, but it sounds as if they are trying to sell Minneapolis as the building. Honeywell doesn't invest in buildings without an anterior motive.

Why, it wasn't but about 2 months ago, in the executive area at the engines site I watched a stream of executive new chairs being rolled in. Yep, nice fancy ones with all the multiple adjustments! SWEET!.

It's OK, my chair squeaks when It rolls and I put duct tape on a couple of tears to prolong the life. Yes, I AM a future shaper supporting the glorious company.

I could probably borrow one of new ones because, in the 2 months, I'd bet that a couple of them have never been sat in. They must work some strange hours because the executive area is strangely empty. They probably air tagged them.

The roof leaks, 1/2 the bathrooms are out of order, basic needs like desk chairs and monitors are so old people are stealing newer chairs out of peoples cubes. The entire place has a mold/mildew smell from disgusting old carpets and years of leaks, the conference rooms are straight out of 1982. When they updated the equipment in those rooms years ago they bought stuff that was end of life from the mfg. although the rumor is they are updating some conference rooms in addition to a gym and cafeteria that will pass health inspection. People would probably have a comfortable chair than a gym

Minneapolis is doing the same thing that Golden Valley did. Our supplier was supposedly charging us double the price. So they got the brilliant idea that Golden Valley had, let’s go with this real cheap outfit.

Now parts are falling off the boards. More rework and guess what we can’t get our parts on time anymore. Moral of the story don’t hire golden Valley management. Now we walk in the same footsteps as they do.

Warning! Don’t hire Minneapolis management or Golden Valley management. If you have successful business, do you really want to be like Honeywell? When they apply for a job. Hire them for a position other than management. I think janitor rule would fit their qualifications. Then get used to cleaning up the mess they made.

Unprofessional and no qualifications needed. We’re so far in the red. I’m waiting for the hands-on meeting. Due to high skyrocketing cost of doing business in Minnesota and stiff competition. In order to be more competitive, and to grow margins.

We have made the very difficult decision of relocating. In order to be more competitive and find more qualified people. We didn’t take decision very lightly and the first we ever heard of this decision.

The company wants to go green and use solar panels and wind. We wanna eliminate the carbon footprint and be less dependent on fossil fuels. It cheaper to build a new state our facility, then to try to upgrade the current building. It would cost too much so we decided to build a brand new building which was cheaper.

Since I keep seeing the head engineers from Aerospace headquarters, and Clearwater engineers. If I was a betting person, these would be my first location that I think they’re going to.

On the propaganda channel, they have a brand new state of art facility and nobody’s in it. This is the Arizona location and if I read correctly, these are selling Clearwater they probably have a state art facility there too.

Sunshine State Florida. Arizona lots of sunshine. I see Mexico and Puerto Rico in the cards too.

You are correct Honeywell no longer owns Golden Valley. People who work in the building say it is pretty bad shape with rats running around and lot of the restrooms not in working order

If you’re speaking of Golden Valley, doesn’t Residue (Resideo) own that now? I know that Honeywell is leasing space from them for engineering.
Also, the place in Plymouth is a lease.

Any word on the bleak, moribund Cambridge Ontario site?

Honeywell completely neglected the IGS West Chester, OH facility in the years leading up to the sale. By the time they’d ran the business into the ground, the AC wasn’t working, wallpaper was peeling, carpets were horribly stained, and rumor was that it was an EPA hazard (paint line was contaminating ground water). Don’t know for certain on the EPA part, but the rest was assuredly true - they invested absolutely nothing into that place.

In the current climate Honeywell will not invest in tidying up a building without a clear economic motive, you are absolutely correct in that. I have zero knowledge of that site or it's functions so would not want to comment what the motive may be, however I do know a lot will be changing in Honeywell next year.
