Tesla will only keep those that are talented and innovative. Those who left Tesla for Ford or GM are useless. They are vested with retention bonus and only want more money.
They cannot change the culture at Ford. The company is locked under UAW. Leaderships are clue less. They all pretend to be knowledgeable, but deep down they know very little.
All talk and no action.

If you think simply hiring away talent from Tesla will get model e where it needs to be...keep drinking...or smoking...or...whatever. Tesla talent + Tesla management + Tesla culture (more the 1st 2) put them where they are. Hiring talent away just to put them under management that doesn't know how to think like Tesla management still gets you dog po-p. There has to be real change...if that's happening I guess we will see. But how long can they wait with more constraints, legacy la or costs, lack of manufacturing innovation, ect??
Tesla is vertically integrating its lithium mining. Ford is partnering with lithium suppliers. Different strategies is all it is.

I would not say Tesla will be ahead in BEV mobility long-term. Our Model e second-gen products/services haven't been debuted to the media or public yet, and, much of the talent that put Tesla on the map are now at Ford to develop and launch our products.
Tesla is always 10 steps ahead of Ford.
