SE Layoffs to C2E

There are more SE layoffs across direct and architectures coming as part of the Q1 Earnings Announcement and Restructuring. They are going to be mandating C2E due to this which means no pay and career advancement.

Who is this EK, toxic Knipp or Knipp guy? Seems like he provides no values and harmful to Cisco and to people him. Seems like a well known issue. Why doesn't Cisco just get rid of him?

EK should have been LRd. His disastrous C2E has cost Cisco business and talent for years to come. No SED would stand up against C2E but instead were kissing up to him and embracing it in hopes it would further their career advancement.

This is not true. The new AMER SE leader VP Moffit has not even started yet. Toxic Knipp who created C2E moved to work for Patrick on architectures. C2E now run by different group.

This Knipp guy was a waste of a Cisco's money. I see no improvement, no change and nothing new after the years that he was there. What has he done except for lip service. We could have saved a lot of good people for the money that Cisco paid him. How much did he spend on the train wrecked C2E? What else is he going to break now in the new org that he's in? I am starting to think that some of these leaders are just getting paid and not providing any values to the organization.

Burn out or rust out, are you not out either way.

It's better to burn out than it is to rust.

Most of them have not even configured a router from ground-up, does not even know how to install a router license hands-on!

To be fair, Cisco changes the process from release to release and the search always returns a long list of methods which no longer work on the latest release. If they trained on all the previous releases the problem is changes being made that aren't driving training in support.

It's funny how even children of old could install Windows and Office and install the license keys without having to call support. It's long past time to fire everyone who came up with every version of Cisco's licensing processes.

Pool to fool the SEs. Nice plan. However, if I compare the technical abilities of an average Cisco SE with that of the SE teams of one of its competitors, I have to say that Cisco has no reason to pay these waste-of-Spaces a salary. Most of them have not even configured a router from ground-up, does not even know how to install a router license hands-on! I speak from experience. And they are supposed to be the “trusted adviser” to the customers!

Worse thing is, the few people who are actually technical, get judged by the standards of these other hobgoblins and find it very hard to move to a more fulfilling position internally and externally. I am glad I am out of there.

Cut the fat. Not just the SE/SAs but also SEMs whose sole job it is to be excel expert drones, and change the SEDs from hand-waving, self-promoting. nonsensical marketing people who love to put “CTO” against their names and whoop it up on LinkedIn to people with technical backgrounds.

Reboot Cisco. It’s time. Otherwise be lost forever in a sea of forgettable other big companies whose insignificant memories have now drowned in a sea of excr-ment.

Pooling SEs saves $$$ by paying SEs less and limiting their career opportunities and advancement. The competition uses pooling against us. Customers do not want pooling.

Pooling for all SEs is coming.

Everyone’s title was changed to SE because everyone will be the same and pooled now. How is that not self evident?

@3stj+1pqx70H8 Why should an SE be dealing with TAC anyway?

Removing CSOne access is a great start towards the development of the non-technical SE. In favor of access to tools like Teamspace, MEDDPICC, SFDC.

MM does NOT like technical SEs. He likes them being fluffy mini-AMs.

@2dkx+1pqx70H8 Makes sense. We don’t need sooooo many security people for such a small portfolio and tiny revenue.

Rumor is that Security will trim the fat after the winter break. No one is safe.

Confirming the OP. Hearing the same in the UKI Org. Layoffs coming soon in sales with perhaps hiring more in CX presales. More focus on pushing existing customers to refresh than sell new solutions to new customers as there is no new innovation, hence, no new solution. Pool the SEs in C2E, get rid of the higher grades - saves money for the company and makes the directors look good to upper management. And business? Oh well, who cares about business anyway. Cisco is a dying elephant and the director and upwardly grades are sitting around like vultures to feed on its carcass.

This is complete nonsense. There are no further sales layoffs planned yet, agile is only being used for architectures (leadership has said this repeatedly), and there is the same career advancement for agile or not. Can you please just quit? Everyone time you post, you say the same d-mb things which are not true.

Not unexpected. Some Cisco SAs have forgotten how to even license a router hands-on or give it an ip address. I speak from experience of dealing with such people while I was part of Cisco UKI. Good luck to those finding another job.
