Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Verizon, AT&T subscribers ask a court to reverse T-Mobile's acquisition of Sprint

Its sad that these two once invincibles continue to hope that crying and layoffs will make up for their poor business decisions.

It seemed to me that the whole point of the merger was to reduce competition and the pricing pressures that result from competition.

That's why Verizon and AT&T aren't a party to this suit. They benefit too from lesser competition. Now, T-Mobile was trying to shift customers to more expensive plans until the publicity blew up in their faces.

The situation in telecommunications is similar to other industries consolidating in order to price gouge the public. The cause is simple - corruption, brought to us by Citizens United.

As the previous poster pointed out, this isn’t AT&T or Verizon suing but subscribers, aka..private citizens or a law firm looking to get paid.

Your commentary is total independent of the article

Look at the 5-year stock return of TM versus T and VZ. Opposite directions. This meritless case is about TM now being over valued and T & VZ shareholders losing big. This isn’t the companies suing, but a class action suit with lawyers looking for a payday that won’t come. Price increases have resulted from inflation caused by pandemic supply chain shortages, higher interest rates, increased wages and benefit costs. Name one thing that hasn’t increased in price…? Their claim that prices increased because of merger is “speculative” at best and won’t be held up in court.
