Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Layoffs before end of year?

Can we relax a bit and assume we will have paychecks for at least until christmas?

Absolutely love seeing that person post. Standing up authoritatively like a bastion of logic and reason: "Never fear...for I did not taste that in the cool-aid, therefore..carry on as you were fine citizens."

LOL

Where's the guy who always responds to these posts with something like:

This wasn't mentioned in the recent Town Hall - therefore I am not concerned about it at all.

I believe they are trolling, but I enjoy hopping on the downvote train with everyone else.

No, it’s coming, however, my LL4 told me they will be quiet & very selective.

@OP I am banking on having a paycheck until Xmas. After that, who knows.

I am guessing here, but I think manglement will wait until the retirement wave of this year (Dec 1st deadline), then is December, where half of the workforce is on vacation, so that leaves us next year. Since everything is slow as molasses at Ford, I'd expect at least Feb/March for a general layoff.

Now, the big issue I see here is that Ford is making small cuts in the workforce. IDK if you, OP, are going to be safe from the small cuts. The other possibility is if you are agency, since next year contracts get renewed in December, but you should be able to reach Xmas. As a GSR, you should not worry about it, only about more workload if the contractors in your area are let go.

Good luck!

Well, my time at FMCC, I never felt like I could relax. The pressure was always on from time you walked in door until time you left. Was always a crisis. Between pi---d of dealers, finance managers, and my direct managers, not to mention corporate always changing programs goals and incentives don't think that concept was even remote.

I don’t know if I’d relax but I’d be surprised if layoffs happened before year end. It’s less than two months before holiday break and we all know Ford can’t plan and execute anything in that amount of time.
