Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Layoffs across several banks this week

I'm starting to worry we'll be joining the trend soon.

@9anr+1ptzjHq9 - good to know they have budgeted for my package -- which I eagerly await -- but their planning sux.

Case in point, they are over on Target Expense levels b/c their Attribition Projections were WAY off.

If they pay everyone on this forum who would gladly accept severance, their headcount expense would decrease instantly!

@8bxs+1ptzjHq9 - Severance is factored into the overall budgets. It has nothing to do with whether its affordable or not. They pre-plan targets from year to year

Layoffs are few and far between. Expenses are so high, Bank can't afford any severance (or a full bonus for that matter). They will use non-compliance with the "We are a work in office" company policy to fire us "for cause" to avoid paying any severance.

Doesn't matter that we do the work of all the people who (smartly) left already.

Doesn't matter that we work INSANE hours via VPN, because we don't "badge in" per their silly small-minded policy. (who has time to commute with all the work we have to do?)

Congratulations Management Team and HR - you made bad decisions and overhired, so now employees pay. Stop saying you care about the employee experience when you obviously do not.

Let ‘em! And then when the economy come roaring back, and they are too thinly staffed to maintain their current market share, they can finally pay-up to current standards to hire back! I’ve not seen ANY type of raise in nearly 10 years, with dwindling bonuses to make up for it.

Housing is far too expensive for one location to recruit out of market too. Where I live, would cost them 30% more than my current all-in income to get someone to move here. People are stuck, which means their available talent pool is stuck too! We’re in this together

Could only hope for a layoff.

With BOAs stock price being what it is, layoffs are not only expected but necessary because it’s all about the shareholders.

It's truly the new bonus model at BAC. Rather than pay you to waste your career away, they will give you life by cutting you free. I look at it as a very benevolent m9ve for BAC to have layoffs
