Just caught wind of another scandal involving an entrenched set of managers just winging their roles and putting seriously racist and illegal goals on folks CFEs....Nike needs to get rid of these id--ts and make things right by the employees who have suffered for years under them. Xenophobes should be purged. WTF Nike? Do better.

Nike is full of individuals who do want to do the right thing. This is why Nike also hires lawyers to do their dirty work: for example bullying 20++ year veteran ex-employees who have received Excels ratings as well as having been recognized via a Maxim award.

I have experienced this first hand and it does not feel good to have your new employer subpoenaed for irrelevant information that could be procured via a public records request, for example. Bully’s never win and “Nike” absolutely will bully you by proxy.

Speaking Up policy is a false promise. Retaliation is fierce. HR/ ER/ management enforce the Zero-Tolerance policy against employees who dare to interrupt their bias - The Nike way.

Yes.
I was discriminated against.
I went to ER with my issue and ended up getting managed out.
Now I am in a much healthier work environment at another company and earning twice as much income, with less stress.
It also motivated me to clear all the swooshes out of my closet and find better brands that actually fit my feet, look good and perform.
I'd say it turned out very well for me.

Nothing positive. Was pulled into an ER investigation about a VP who is infamous for retaliation and bullying (many ER complaints before & after this one). I expressed my reservations about providing any info to ER about this VP due to their reputation. I was assured that would not be tolerated. They lied and despite overwhelming feedback on this VP from many people that gave them multiple reasons for immediate termination this person remains and has systematically terminated or pushed out tenured successful employees that they think were part of the ER investigation. Multiple people have just flat out quit to get away from this VP. They could care less.

Racism, s-xism, and xenophobia exist at Nike and are even tolerated. Some people in power can’t be touched. It’s a training ground for bullies and mean girls. And plenty of them are hiding behind the LGBTQIA flag. Shame on Nike for tolerating that.
Impartiality should be impartial.

@1oz cheating on a spouse su-ks and I do not condone it, but it’s not fireable and a reflection of the work. Plenty of people cheat who don’t get reprimanded at work for it. But if it was the act literally taking place on campus it likely is, but can’t just be a rumor real documented evidence would be needed

Best advice is to make sure you document everything. Having a he said/she said or she said/she said or he said/he said case is tougher, so document everything you can. I have been both the leader of a teammate who raised something up and someone who was interviewed for a scenario filed against a peer and in both separate scenarios they were taken serious and both of the employees the different issues were raised on were exited very quickly after the investigations wrapped. But there was a lot of written documentation of it and others who had witnesses behavior that were willing to speak up in the interviews. Without that it is a lot harder for them to take serious action.

Our team recently had an issue with a Sr. Director and while the process was very long and HR was thorough, they are no longer with the company. I’ve heard most experiences haven’t gone well in the past, but your VP is really the person who controls what happens. Some refuse to fire people when this stuff happens and/or move them to other teams to get the issue off their plate. And I didn’t realize they got a choice until our team had to go through the process.

Not with ER or HR. I reported something that got sent to internal investigations and that was the only time in 12 years I’ve seen something handled the right way but I don’t know why they took the issue. I think most things get sent to ER and HR and that’s an awful experience.

HR exists to protect Nike. Don’t trust their process, collect information & contact a lawyer. They’ll walk you through things safely.

I personally have been managed out after my manager’s golden boy went over the line during a meeting.
Lack of evidence meant I had nothing to show HR and nothing to show my lawyer. And nothing to show for after my boss “completely unrelated to the HR investigation” showed me the door.
