Whether layoffs happen tomorrow or not doesn't really matter. A threat of more cuts will remain. Nothing will change. This is our new normal. If you value your mental health, learn to live with it. Prepare the best you can just in case and then go with the flow. Stressing over this will not help you.

“I know there is another round coming but I have no idea when.”
Always. It is always. Just prepare for it so you are more ready to go compared to where you are now.
It's sad to be 63 and not able to retire. Consider contract work until you are able to.
I know there is another round coming but I have no idea when.
Yep. They got me. Livelihood now gone at 63 years of age. “Financial Exercise” is what they are calling it.
Don’t stress? Good advice if you’re still employed. Try starting over at 63. I wish the company well along with all affected.
The RIFs will continue until Pulse Survey participation improves.
60’s BS? It’s a fact,Jack. You could be the best worker in the company, and some random person will just decide you’re gone. Are you really going to sit around worrying about that? Your best bet is to constantly be looking for something better. Then you won’t have to worry.
Amen to that!
Well said OP. This IS the new normal...and I AM on the cut list. It takes some time to digest, but then I move on and do the next right thing. God is in control.
It is more the return to normal. COVID was a break from it for some. Verizon was founded om rifs and there has and always will be rifs.
More cuts are fine by me as long as it reflects in the Stock price.
So you must be at least a Senior Manager. SM are more privy to information than individual contributor.
I am certainly not a director or anything above. I have the same chances of being laid off as anybody else. I just decided not to endanger my health by stressing over things I can't change.
Spoken like a director or higher not on a cut list.
