Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Would someone be terminated if found to be posting on this web site?

It's something all of you should consider with the nonsense posted here.

Any lawyer will tell you not to use your company phone for personal biz and vice versa. If a company ever offers you a second phone for business or a concession on your personal phone (possibly an additional concession if you already get a discount), always take the second phone and don't ever mix. The minute you use your personal phone for business it falls under their purview.

I sent an email to FOX Business once and got a call back to appear on Cavuto and Bulls & Bears with Brenda Butler. I declined the on TV interview but gave them information which Brenda later used on a segment on Southwestern Bell.
I had SBC at home internet and am IT savy, found security pinging my computer and "sniffing". Don't assume your invisible and they may decide to attack you with the COBC thing which may or may not be fair.
Just know that after the Stankey, Stephenson implosion they are always looking to terminate.

I issued COUs in my org. I routinely looked at reports, run on demand, from the COU site. I could see every app loaded, all the IPs visited, talk time, data usage. Often used these as part of term support for not working while on company time or COBC violations. Nothing ever was contested and terms always held.

No expectation of privacy on COU device. It is in the policy. Of course I never even accessed this site from COU and this is only my second time ever posting to it. While I never had an issue, other than an email reminder once to update the device, I gave up my COU.

That is one of my jobs in IT. Analyzing company data. So yes the traffic to a particular side can be easily isolated. Nothing is private. All it takes is an executive to request a breakdown Spin the wheel and take your chances.

Been posting for a few years, as posted by others, don’t use any company device or post on company time. Use common sense and don’t post any insider strategies or anything to do with finances that aren’t available to the public. Other than that, you are good,

With the FBI crashing through innocent Americans doors you have fewer rights than you think these days.

Technically yes, posting here is a violation of the COBC social media use. You are posting as an ATT employee about company policies on a public social media site. Pretty sure we are not authorized to post here. Double whammy posting from a company device or over company wifi. Best to just use private browsing, cellular network or home internet.

  1. Don't use company resources to post here.
  2. Don't post anything illegal.

Follow these two rules and you'll be fine.

Hey. @wzg+1pw2VJmT -

This may be news to you, but the 1st Amendment is not entirely applicable to private businesses. The constitution is a set of restrictions and protections from GOVERNMENT abuses, not corporate America abuses.

More than that, the 1st isn't a blanket and absolute right. There have been several Supreme Court cases that have upheld restrictions on speech.

Maybe a return to Jr High civics class would be in order for you.

Corporate Security monitors and records your every move, location, writings, ramblings and toilet paper consumption for disciplinary action purposes up to and including dismissal.

Given the fact that T is so free and easy with letting people go regardless of cause, I'd say that if they discovered one of their own posting here - whether with a COU device or not - they'd have no problems using that as justification for termination.

But then again, a reason isn't needed for T. It's simply a convenience.

By US labor laws, employees have every right to talk about wages and working conditions with their peers, and employers are prohibited to interfere or retaliate against it (Google it, get familiarize with your rights).
Anyways, they are strictly forbidden to fire you from discussing work, layoffs, wages etc with your coworkers in person or on social media, so unless your post violates some other law (you posted something really proprietary like trade secret, or a threatened someone...) you should be good.
Regardless, I would recommend everyone not to use corporate devices or network when posting on any social media, just to stay on a safe side.

There is no freedom of speech while on the clock or using a company device. Better read up on social media policy. Yes, they will fire you and trace your COU IP address.

iPhone 14?

They won't even provide two tin cans and a long string. No matter, who wants to be called at home about work with RTO.

Who gives a sh-t unless they post concrete insider upper management layoff info which we know NEVER gets posted here because we're all just a bunch of union tech and low level management jerkoffs here who are all kept in the dark about it until that teams meeting is scheduled sameday on a Friday.
