Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Tracy Kerrins should be let go

Tracy Kerrins (Technology head - direct of CEO) in her town hall talked about “bumps” and having to “pause” to stabilize. These are also known as freezes that prevent almost all CHG work.

We have had multiple unexpected freezes this year. Having two (!) in Q4 is crippling.

She and at least some of her leadership team need to be shown the door.

This thread is two years old and truer today than it was then. Her budget for for a 5000-6000 person org was over by near $10M in 2025

Everyone should be evaluated according to their actual performance. In that sense, we are getting consensus (except for a few of her friends) that her performance "does not meet" the minimum standard and she needs to go. Someone mentioned compassion for this woman, but we never got any compassion from our managers.

She is an over paid cheerleader. She has no clue and will throw anyone under the bus to keep her paycheck. She was told to cut and that she will do, because she likes doing that. She will fake her reasons to travel so she can sponge off the company. She was let go by her last company which was way smaller for similar reasons, she does not know what she is doing and is in over her head.

Yep. Never forget that while TK dances, she's doing so on the graves of the US-based WF tech workers. Almost all of it will go to India and it's not coming back. There will be a small contingent here in the US, but it'll be very small and you're not in the mix. People have this misguided notion that the execs care if there is a negative impact of letting you go. "I have special skills", "no one else has the knowledge that I do", "the teams in India are incompetent", "if they axe us, tech is going to he-l." etc. Read my lips, they do not care. At all. They want you gone, preferably voluntarily, and that's all they want from you.

As somebody else said she has one job. And it is not running technology. It is closing up shop of the US employee base. my guess is she and her directs are incentivized for doing so.

Sorry mate,
When many competent hardworking employees got laid off, nobody had compassion or patience for them. So, no, TK doesn't deserve any compassion or patience from anybody. Especially when she is getting paid millions of dollars for doing cr-ppy work. Just about everyone except you seems to agree that she needs to go. You have strange obsession with TK.

All the haters on here should take a good look in the mirror. Have you no compassion at all in your hearts? TK was brought in to do a job. How she does it is up to her manager to judge, not any of you who clearly are not qualified or understand what it takes.

You think it's easy? Try walking a mile in TK's shoes and see how you come out at the end of the day!

Please have some patience with TK's performance to date.

She will get it it straight, will just take more experience.

We are not being s-xist, most of us would warmly welcome a competent female leader. But not TK. It's very obvious to many people, this role is way over her head. We are talking about serious business here, we should not have a DEI person who cannot do the job.

If you put the word "executive" on your resume, you have a high chance of getting an executive position. Quite often, the word "executive" is not an official corporate title, but more of a subjective title you can put on your resume. If you look at TK's LinkedIn profile, she randomly kept putting the word "executive" in most of her past jobs. I highly doubt that most of the official titles were "executive".

Here is another example of fudged resume from LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/kevin-croke-308aa16

So Wells Fargo hired someone who did not have necessary skillset to begin with, and she was not a good fit for this executive position to begin with. You are saying she just needs lots of lots of training while getting paid for millions of dollars. I would like to apply for that kind of training program. Sounds like a good retirement strategy.

@1tru+1pwcgm1E lol ok TK. Pretty sure everyone is saying fundamentally, this is not a on the job training position. This is the big league. You’re ready or not. She’s not. No one is saying it’s easy. It’s not. But for the amount of money she’s being paid. No one. Should have sympathy. She’s not big league. She’s out of her league. Thius deserves criticism. Respectfully.

Please have some patience with TK's performance to date. While it is evident she does not yet possess every skill needed in her current position it is also obvious she does have a great deal of experience from her other positions.

She will get it it straight, will just take more experience.

What a garbage post. There are at least 20 directors and executives that need to be fired because frankly they don’t do anything but feed off their directs and just recycle the work. They silently attend meets but literally have nothing to do. I don’t post their name here. Maybe I should shame them and do so.

It is 100% not fair (sure that's life in general) that leadership is allowed plentiful opportunities to fail and fail up without any regard to anything. They get their nice paycheck and move on.

It is also a 100% certainty there are talented and great people in the company who if given the opportunity, can actually get us through this mess.

Not looking for us to hug each other and dance in circles, but humans are a species that when given opportunities have shown to do wonderful things.

Does WF want to advance with the human race or sit back and myopically serve into a system of leadership that continues to fail fail fail fail fail.

Lots of companies, colleges, etc have been quietly laying off their useless DEI staff. Wells is just extra slow to the punch as usual.

So her "All hands call" was a lot like watching "Highschool Musical"

I mean really, everyone wearing the same outfit, jumping up and down, waiting for applauses, phony smiles, yelling "woo hoo" ?

Kids with no clue running technology.

I bet in the coming months they will give her a nice package and show her the exit, although the communication around it will be that she is exploring other opportunities outside the firm (bank)
