Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Commercial Sales Layoffs Coming

Region consolidations are coming. A few regions will be parted out and absorbed into other regions. Those RMs and SEMs will be impacted. US Commercial hired new AMs and SAs at lower pay in order to layoff higher paid AMs and SAs.

Might be some truth to this as the Commercial had a bit of hiring. Wasn't it the same time last year that Cisco announced the restructuring as part of Q1 earning report?

Why do SO MANY people post on this site, when its so obvious they dont work at Cisco. GET A FREAKING LIFE.

Asked and answered many times. Why do SO MANY people at Cisco have no ability to read and learn?

When? The fiscal year just started - not a great time for massive change.

Usually that's when massive changes start, when funding is allocated to them.

BTW, WTH have you been for the past 12 yrs or longer? Cisco almost always has layoffs in Q1. Back between '08 and '14, the Q1 layoffs were announced ahead of time and impacted employees were notified in Aug, then beginning in '16, the layoffs began to be announced during the earnings calls and impacted employees were notified the next couple of business days. Then there's always the "stealth" LR's that occur all the time.

But Q1 reductions are a normal part of Cisco's annual practice.

This. Project Artemis is a way to hire the cheaper workers THEN do the layoffs, so they aren’t seen to be hiring right after a layoff.
