Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Veterans Day - Did Leadership say anything about the Men and Woman defending our country.

If I missed it, I'll apologize - but did anyone see anything from Leadership about Veterans Day ? If not, that is very, very disappointing... I'm not even a veteran - but I called my co-workers who are and thanked them...

AT&T is a very different company than it was when I started working here.

I am Vet, nothing from my org. Not that I really care anyways, but didn’t surprise me either given our current corporate stance on various issues. Some coworkers messaged me which I appreciated, but no big deal for me. My wife’s company gave them Friday off. Kind of surprised by that.

Corey Anthony sent an email last year, nothing this year. Nothing from Sambar who has historically sent something on Memorial Day.

I didn’t see any Veterans Day emails from my chain of command. But I did receive several from employee friends that I’ve developed over the years. That means way more.

If the C Suite can share DEI information they can thank Veterans for their service!

PERIOD!

Charles on Around the Globe (who is a Vet) recognized Veterans last Wednesday.

It used to be the Chief of Staff’s job to keep track of holidays and draft a leadership message and then interrupt the L6 from golf outings or spa treatments to approve. But in this new RTO CF* the Chief of Staffs are frankly overwhelmed with hunting down who didn’t show up to an office, learning how to take delegate training in Workday, or brushing up their own resumes.

If only ChatGPT could attend golf outings and receive spa treatments for the L6s to free up time to communicate with their team.

I’m a vet. My L6 did send something out. I don’t want to say who it is, because it’s pretty rare to see a vet in my line of work. No one else though. “Thank you for your service.” has become rather trite in any case. I’m not butt-hurt about it.

I’m a veteran. I’ve been here at T since I was honorably discharged. Been a couple decades. Had many different bosses and org changes over that period of time. This is the first year that I ever recall no mention of veterans on our team around Veterans Day. Normally you at least see an email from L3 or higher thanking the Vets for their service. Something. This year, nothing. Nada.

Don’t get me wrong, it doesn’t hurt my delicate sensibilities or anything. It’s just kind of a sad statement of fact on where things are these days.

No one on my team would p-e on another were they on fire. Much less thank them for their service.

This is the AT&T that Stankey/Randell created. I didn't do it, I just watched it happen.

The CEO or C Suite should have sent something out. FULL STOP!

Did leadership say anything about Taylor Swift? She was nominated for a bunch of Grammys.

It would be wonderful if our government treated our veterans as well as people entering the country illegally, a lot of veterans have to fight for their benefits despite their years of service.

You want to honor our veterans. Write your congressman about giving veterans their health benefits instead of denying veterans' health claims at the VA Veterans Administration.

Nope. I’ll just decide to RTO two days every other week now. Or every month. It doesn’t matter.

VP Ross Bacum sent out a nice message thanking the Vets.

T, like many other companies, will hire many veterans and brag about it. Don't be fooled, it's only because they get a good financial incentive from our government to do so.
