Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Layoffs have been happening

layoffs have been happening... just not in your department.
The last round hit corporate impacting IT and other support functions.
The mandate to move all clerical work to the lowest cost work center continues.
This trend will reinforce India where wages continue to be rock bottom when compared to the world market. The trend will hurt Czech where neighboring Poland offers much lower wage workers.
Look for honeywell to continue to follow Dave Cote's rule : work flows to the lowest cost labor source.

The low performing workers all seem to be among the upper echelon. Why is JW still employed?

This site is full of low performing Honeywell workers who are afraid of losing their jobs and can't leave Honeywell because they know they will not find employment else where. These folks are Honeywell bashers for a reason, they can't compete and are mostly lazy because if things were as bad as they portrayed them to be your average employee would have left long ago. Grow up you childish pukes!

I hoping so. Best yet would for Honeyhell to offer a voluntary. I'd take that in a heartbeat. But then so would many of my coworkers. Most likely it would leave Honeywell with many disfunctuonal groups though.

Likewise with 401K change mentioned in another thread. That referred to IBM. If any other major company does something to take from their employees, Honeywell takes notice. We should all be subscribing to the Wall Street Journal, it is about the only honest news organization left. Plus it is business oriented and that is what we are talking about here.

Wow so much hate and stupidity here, I know this site is based on "rumours" and some of them do come true or give nice indications. But Racism... disgusting -

Post ID: @fua+1pzlrPSl - India is currently considering a 70hr work week, no joke.
You know where all this is heading.

WHO TOLD YOU THAT? ONE PROMINENT BUSINESSMAN (VERY OLD, hence OLD school generation) stated his views and your deduction is "India" is considering 70 hr week? There is a healthy debate going on but your interpation is very wrong.. and may be the media houses you are reading are to blame for your stupidty as well.

Post ID: @ukj+1pzlrPSl - Ah, good ol’ Indians devaluing everyone else by having no sense of self worth or respect, so they work like dogs around the clock for a company that will ditch them for the next India as soon as the find it.

HOW PURELY STUPID YOUR BRAIN CAN BE?

how are Indians devaluing everyone? every country has their own economy, market and pay accordingly. India is the most populous country in the world, so competition is high and hence pay are lower but the cost of living is also lower accordingly. You cant blame your over inflatious pricing (capitalism) for most things and hence creating a market where higher salaries are required to surivive. Why would any busines pay differently than market price for an employee? just making that comment shows your pettiness and ugly/toxic mindset.

I found out today as a VP that they are planning to spin off hbt commercial security due to their loss making business. A combination of a low margin business, talent drain and many years of not investing in new products. Thank you DA.

I heard quite reliably that VK was advised to hold off on reductions in force until next year.
Last years disastrous cull by DA just before Christmas did not go down well internally and caused a lot of conflict. It was not only the nasty, immoral aspect but apparently a lot of critical employees were lost due to the headless chicken 'panic' mandate to slash EOY figures. I have heard of some eye watering losses due to the impact it had, part of why DA got axed.

The next woke movement needs to focus on leveling pay across all regions. Some companies already do this. To perpetuate the image of diversity with 10x pay differences for same job between regions is gross.
Pay the same. Be it low or high. Same work same pay. If nobody in America will work for you… so be it. If your defense work requires country of origin workers .. pay for it and do the right thing.

Yet they expect the North American and West European, whose workers they threw under the bus, to ladle out dollars to purchase their garbage.

For sure, their work product is low-quality - that goes without saying. But Honeywell doesn’t seem to care about quality in aspect of the company, and places a premium on always working. Big quantity-over-quality guys running that place.

Honeywell always take a shortsighted view when outsourcing. Yes they seem to work ridiculously long hours in India and China. But in my experience those teams often do not have the skills or experience to do as good as job, require much more input, with deliverables rarely right first time round, and delivery times that are usually at least 2-3x what it would have taken if done locally. In those high growth regions turnover of staff is always an issue so its difficult to build up a decent knowledge base.

It is said that mainland China has a 9-9-6 work week. 9 AM - 9 PM 6 days a week. It is not this way in Hong Kong though which is where I heard this from.
