Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Global Town Hall talk..

My impression: JF's speech is slurred, and according to him, U.S. workers are the cause of all quality and money issues.

@aukd+1q2AgYSX - I think I may know that IT guy you referenced. Unfortunately I heard he passed away a couple of years ago.

Yeah @4ias the coins delivered with insincerity left me empty.
When I was a young pup intern 40 years ago there was an older gentleman in IT who was presented a shiny red mustang for coming up with a method of saving both boatloads of money and time. He had coded a solution on the weekends and implemented it going against the party line at the time. I was so impressed and wanted to be like that guy.
But alas the days of quality leadership truly appreciating employees is gone at Ford. And thankfully so am I gone from Ford. Best of luck to everyone left behind; ring that retirement bell if you can; advance your career external to Ford if you can’t.

Farley is done, he's being terminated with a big buyout beginning of the year. Bill's buddies at Bl@ckrock finally made it clear it's time for Jimmy to go play race car before he bankrupts the company and teh Ford family loose all their $$$$$$.
Layoffs? Of course more layoffs are coming, programs are being cancelled, say bye bye Model E. All levels are being cut, Lawler has to find $5 billion to cut or the books are screwed and the stock will drop to $5, BIll, Elena and the rest of the crew not going to allow that to happen.
Look at the Design Studios, you can see what's happening and more important what's NOT happening.
Big mystery who will be next CEO, of course it will an outsider. Baumbick was on a short list, he's another Hackett flunkie, so not happening.
Good luck to all.

@4ndj+1q2AgYSX Yes, nice coins. IDK, if I had saved the company 3 millions, like it was said in the GTH, I would expect other type of coins, like a lot of dimes and quarters, for my contributions that saved money to the company.

The GTH looks like a turn around in the company, bashing management a little bit (just once) and rewarding the ideas of the regular GSRs. However, it would have a better morale effect if instead of coins they would present giant checks, like they do in the lottery.

Besides, call me cynical, but I am not convinced of the good intentions of our "leadership". Those double face ba----ds are probably cooking the next round of layoffs, while the migration of our jobs to LCC continues.

Excellent GTH. I suggest we change the name to UTH (universal town hall).

Never mind, people may confuse it with UTI.

@1vqs+1q2AgYSX Bill won’t let go until his daughter is installed at ceo. Elena wont be ceo too much intra-family power squabbling for that to occur

Be careful saying that kind of thing about members of the Ford family. She is likely to be the next leader of our company - followed by Bill Ford's daughter.

Maybe they aren't lining up to buy today's EV's. Thus why the Ford next-gen Model e products specifically will deliver new experiences that will draw orders of magnitude new customers to BEV and the subscriptions/services that go along with them. It will be a win-win. Sit tight and enjoy the future of Ford.

Funny Engineers only do as they are told. Managements gets the credit but when there is fault it is the engineer who gets the blame.

@rbm+1q2AgYSX. What gives you the impression that anyone is clamoring to buy a Ford BEV?

Did any of you catch the mention of the Gen2 Model e BEV's? As was noted here before, these products will change the landscape of EV's globally with customers and profitability.

Ford fires those who point out that the emperor really had no clothes.

But that’s the way with kings, chiefs and tyrants. They like to remove any opposition, from the gene pool if possible.

Hackett was so out of touch is was crazy watching the town hall meetings. I wanted to throw the potato chip bag at the screen. They must be drinking from the Rouge River.

I don't know about slurred but agree that he's out of touch and, as the kids say, cringe. The culture problem is that some managers don't want to hear "no" and override the expertise of their team members---it's not an individual contributor problem.
