I doubt he will address why he has VPs that are allowed to work outside Dallas and are NoT in “market” jobs. I could see 1 exception but he has some VPS that are hiding out, putting on the background to hide they’re working from home and he looks the other way.

He definately has his favorites and believes what his VPs tell him — meanwhile he has no idea how inefficient systems are — he’s told about automation… and told who is qualified instead of truly selecting a qualified area to develop systems and stop all the millions to Accenture; millions in repetitive and manual work, millions in middle men cost…

Systems are all over the place - Legg’s org, India, towers? , his personal team

Until someone grabs hold, we will just continue to have to take on more work in the markets and tell our turfs to do more..

no one is noticing or caring

And the report at the top is “everything is great and automated…
Accenture and middle man groups laughing all the way to the bank

I suppose it was only a matter of time that Stankey or Sambar acknowledged the postings on this site. It’s true that the messages posted on here must be taken with a grain of salt.

But make no mistake, the company is in trouble. Poor morale, in large part because of RTO, is a sickness that won’t be cured by denials from Stankey or Sambar.

RTO by all accounts is an ill conceived plan to get people to resign without paying severance pay. Period.

In addition to that soul crushing ploy, we have Stankey’s ageism agenda that quite literally is against the law.

Way to go ATT!

CS seemed short tempered — usually not his way but I guess he’s human and just had a bad day. He missed the opportunity to thank those of us holding down the fort besides people building the network.
Does he even know about all the back office support functions necessary to keep the business running or is he drinking the kool aid that everything is being automated?
He’s got systems all over the place run with overlaps of teams just running up a bill with Accenture — double
Digit millions over the years and being fed “ROIs”
That really don’t exist…

In fairness, he can’t get to everything but he expand feedback on system development instead of asking his regulars who blow smoke about automation progress. If that were the case, why so many of us doing back door support? At least acknowledge these teams — it ain’t our fault this is what we have to do and the if we didn’t do, the T fantasy of our automation would be realized and some builds would come to a stop…

Hunger games 😆 Spot on.

I'll take RTO seriously when GRE takes it seriously. We work shifts in our 24 hour shop, meaning there are 3 shift changes a day and so there are about 90 minutes each day that there are way more butts than seats but my teenage Director thinks there is no ROI on obtaining extra seats because that's only 5% of our shift. Sure, because we only go through one shift change per shift. We only take hand offs. We never give them. Right? I'm sure that makes sense to some m0r0n. Of course our pre-Covid seats were cut 75% post-Covid, but no one cares. Just make it work, minions. 3x a week, but it's not Draconian at all. Sambar: can't we just strike a balance? Sure, give us 50% of pre-Covid space, then we'll talk, Sir Clueless.

But to repeat Sambar: your job is in the office!!!!! So yes, if you have vacation 4 days, and you go into the office on that 5th day and no one else is in the office and you're collaborating with the cleaning staff ... your job is in the office!!! Meanwhile we get BS emails on what we're doing to curb our carbon footprint.

Hey Chris, what’s up. Hey John, you are probably here also.

Isn’t the toxicity the result of how employees have been treated in recent years and the environment in which they work?

Another thing, the professional in charge of planning RTO. What was the nonsense stated at the end of the call about folks before COVID that never came into the office (I am almost certain she said choosing) are now choosing to come in. That has contributed to the overcrowding and the need to consider expanding the footprint. First, they are not choosing to come in. Second, the number of employees living in a defined area that would (for that matter had been assigned to an office as per Webphone) report to a specific work location is no mystery. Within weeks of John’s RTO demand it should have been obvious which work locations would be overcrowded.

When you hear stuff like this it really makes one wonder how these people are in the positions they are and / or exposes John for his poor planning forcing this upon everyone with what seems not enough time to plan properly.

The fact that he actually called this place out indicates they're scared people are going to leave before they get the chance to fire them.

appreciate that Sambar's response to RTO was basically "use common sense". He seemed, as all executive management, peeved that we have questions concerning RTO. He stated that it wasn't some "draconian measure". Well, Chris, the problem was is that it is being treated as a draconian measure by lower-level management and many executive ones as well with weekly reports that are many times bashed over our heads without thought to the teams under the manager(s) doing the bashing. Many times it's used as a thinly veiled we-pon where it's implied future employment and salary treatment hinges upon not only 100% compliance but we have managers wanting 115, 120% compliance so that they look good to their management. RTO was a poorly thought out, poorly implemented policy that left many more questions than answers and as a consequence the effected employees/human capital confused and dejected. It has led to unbelievable low morale with most of us dejected and unhappy because the answers and communication we receive about the policy have left the AT&T employee base constantly reminded that we are extremely temporary 'human capital'.

We're constantly reminded that the company is just asking us to return to the office like we did before Covid. The problem is that many of us did not and those of us who did actually had assigned cubicles or offices. We were guaranteed somewhere we could consistently go to to do our work and we didn't have to carry our office (laptop, mouse, keyboards, headphones, notebooks, organizer, etc). And if I lived over 50 miles from the office I was able to go to a closer office, where I would expect to have only a 'drop in' space.

If the company wants everyone to come into an office to work could we at least have an assigned place to sit at where we can lock up our equipment every day. Prior to Covid we weren't playing "Hunger Games" 3-5 times a week, just fighting for a chair in a newly designed call-center drop in space that affords little opportunity to concentrate and actually work.

And, Mr. Sambar, if you disagree with the comments above concerning what our new RTO offices are like PLEASE. PLEASE. I invite you and every executive member of AT&T to come and follow the RTO policy as we have to: for 1 month, badge in, grab a drop-in seat, and work amongst us in the newly designed RTO call center office space (and please know: we're not call center personnel -- we're programmers, designers, advanced network support).

Stankey's PJs come to mind immediately

I'm upset the AT&T Brand Shop doesn't have "papa bear" pajamas. Maybe I can find a spicy red chili santa hat signed by Legg.

Am glad he's reading this site. More upper management needs to be reading it.

And the fact that he's calling out the BS just indicates the lack of communication in this company.

And I hope he comments on that.
