IBM leaked video race based hiring

Cisco is the same on this DEI train. I personally know that MM had equity budgets for folks based on race. leadership meetings where diversity hiring has been openly discussed. Need to hit X % is common . Looking forward to seeing this get brought to light.

There hasn't been any groundbreaking technology created for years due to the high tech industry's embrace of mediocrity.

Yes, yes, everything is a person of color's fault. The only qualified people are not p.o.c. Got it. Oh, and when affirmative action is completely gone, the only people who will have jobs will be asians.

Regarding the prior post; I hope you are right; I fear you are wrong.

Finally the ESG & DEI tides are beginning to turn culturally in the US, but Cisco will take a while to catch on. It'll be subtle. Cisco won't come and say "We're canceling our DEI initiatives" in an Earnings Call or company email. It'll be an Irish Goodbye.

One example, I used to get almost monthly emails & Teams bot messages about signing the blatantly racist Multiplier Pledge. My timing might be off, but it feels like I should have seen another one by now. That's the kind of thing that will quietly just stop.

Let's face it, Cisco and others only push it b/c the institutional investors push it. With the loss of $5T in ESG investments in the industry over the last few years, people are realizing the fad might be over.

Scott Adams had a really nice analysis of DEI on his podcast today, not Cisco-related, but DEI in general. Worth a listen.

This year there was an internship program for SBG. Most of the applicants that were in the interview pool was of any other nationality that was not white. I think there was only one white guy in the pool that I stumbled across.

At the end of the summer there was an announcement asking for interest for their internship program next summer that would be ONLY for “diverse” applicants… aka, everyone not white. It was crickets in response to it. How can it be “diverse” if you aren’t hiring for qualified but only hiring based on race or s-xual orientation?

They are ticking their boxes in less publicly obvious ways…they are training the recruiters to only hunt for certain criteria.

The competency chrisis is coming for us all.

91's writing slopshop code will bring the ruination of millions. I guess as long as wh---y is kept out, it will be a small price to pay.

It's happening everywhere now. Latest news is the Boston mayor's Christmas party only for certain people. They have no shame about it now. Happens at Cisco also - they just aren't d-mb enough to put it in writing or recording.

Yes, VPs have been told to hire X % of black people in the past to improve the company's diversity but not sure about now.
