Rivian EV

Sounds like some of the techs are getting some cool rides.

“AT&T has and I am glad to work for such a progressive forward looking company.”

You and Stinky are the only id--ts that think they company is progressive.

To all the neanderthals who think ICE vehicles have a chance in the face of technological progress and advancement that are EVS, remember the horse and buggy used to think they stick around too. Same arguments against EVs now were applied in support of horse and buggy and against automobiles. No infrastructure and it would run out of gas. Well guess what, electric infrastructure is going up FASSSSTTTTT. Rivian will use Tesla infrastructure already in place. EVs are much more economical to operate than ICE vehicles. And easier to fix. No maintenance(no dirty oil change, transmission change). Remember EVs are the future. Get out of your caves and embrace the future. AT&T has and I am glad to work for such a progressive forward looking company.

“ I can see you sitting there typing with 2 fingers.”

I can hear you in your mom’s basement. Rivian will be gone by 2025. Hopefully T will realize that mo--ns like you should go too.

I can see you sitting there typing with 2 fingers.

Step out of your universe and note that Rivian signed an agreement with Tesla to use their charging stations.

BUT.... many of the other posters are correct.

Drive your EVs to work and then drive and EV for work. I personally do not want one for many reasons I do not want to list.

Another great decision by the company to waste and lose money. Want to really be the champions of less carbon footprint? Announce RTO reduced to 2 days a week

Why don’t they continue to buy non plug-in hybrids? It’s a compromise until a charging infrastructure is in place. Where is common sense when it’s needed.

If anyone would do their research, you would find that the supposed climate friendly EV’s take a lot of dinosaur juice to produce, charge and maintain, batteries need replaced every 4-10 years and the parts supply chain is not built out. With a few exceptions The models change or are discontinued regularly so getting them repaired or maintained is difficult.

The last 3 dinosaur vehicles I’ve owned and operated are still going, after 23 years and have near or over 300k miles with just normal maintenance, wear and tear. Can anyone same the same of EV’s? No! I also don’t have to wait a couple of hours to refuel or route plan for a charging station, point to point with limited miles. Rural areas are off limits for EV too, due to the lack of infrastructure.

I am proud of a company investing in electric vehicles. We all know ICE is at end of it life cycle. All boomers are hanging on to these polluting last century technology vehicles still drinking dinosaur juice. Soon the government will end sales of ICE and when gas is $10 a gallon these ICE vehicles become relics or outlawed from cities. AT&T now has a new line to Rivian, a new plant in Georgia will build hundreds of thousands more of these vehicles and AT&T is well positioned to have the most environmentally friendly fleet of any communications company.

Just another id--t decision. But nothing compared to spending $1 billion in shareholder money litigating purchase of TW against DOJ resulting in $40 billion in shareholder losses 3 years later. Amazing what you can get away with when Larry Fink is your sugar daddy.

Another bad business decision. Better get rolleblades for technicians. Much cheaper and healthy alternative.

Travel to and from work causes enough carbon emission into the atmosphere to make up for the new EVs that T will in vest in, so what's the point? If T would just allow its employees to work from home 4 days per week rather than have them report to the office 3 days a week, the carbon emissions would be decreased drastically as we already have seen evidence of during the Covid lock down. If it makes perfect sense, then T does the complete opposite! That's always been its MO which is why it's in the very poor financial position it's in!

Is this like when the company bought a bunch of C N G vehicles?
Techs spend time driving around trying to find fuel

So let me get this straight, we are interested in reducing emissions for employees traveling for work, but we are not interested in reducing emissions for employees traveling to work. Make it make sense. RTO

It’s crazy how much wasted commute miles are generated because of the RTO/layoff order. Commuting 3x per week for me is 60 miles of driving that I didn’t have to do. Add that up over the year and multiply by the thousands of people impacted by this and you have tens of millions of miles wasted on commuting to sit on teams calls. That’s pollution, time, gas, electricity all wasted for ‘culture’. Buying some electric trucks won’t offset that waste.

Funny and they cost $40k to fix a bumper.

Want to go green? How about return to WFH. Less cars on the road, less gas purchased, lower office energy bills, I mean there is countless environmental and cost savings there. But I know, your masters BlackRock can’t have their commercial real estate portfolio implode, so they are forcing the RTO on everyone. IYKYK.

Amazon's EV delivery vans are made by Rivian.

Stank must have bought Rivan stock, it's up 8% today with the news.

Laughable, Rivian will be bankrupt by summer 2024, unless bailed out by the Whitehouse. Review of the vehicle manufacturer are horrendous.
