Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Alright keyboard warriors, who's really quitting after you get your bonus?

I read it ever year around this time: "I'm quitting once I get my bonus!"

As a manager for many years, I've never seen it happen on my team.

What say you, are you really going to quit after you get your bonus? Do you have a new job lined up where your start date is mid-February?

Hmmmmm....................

I see the word 'stress' a lot. I am guessing these are front-line branch people...... probably the same as the 'union' people. I was in IT (heh, and we were affected) but, I had NO stress, maybe my age and title

I’m giving notice on 2/5. If my bonus was normal, I’ll give the courtesy of two week’s notice. If for some reason it’s short, I’m going to email notice in the afternoon that it was my last day and just walk out forever. I’m applying for jobs in the meantime and progress towards that in the coming weeks will dictate whether I pile money into the 401k as the end approaches, or add it to my cash cushion. My spouse is on board and supportive, having been affected by my stress from working here in recent months.

@dxm+1q6z6DEV I was laid off a few months ago and still check this board….. why do you have a problem with that? There’s no harm to you if some of us are interested in the toxic chaos or whatever is happening at the “firm”. 🙄

@ndh+1q6z6DEV. You got laid off 14 months ago, then retired, and are still checking this board?

Not quitting but quiet quitting after the numbers are locked in. I’m rated exceeds this year but the marginal financial benefit of it over meets isn’t worth the effort I put in. After a decade of being remote but working my tail off to earn remote status, I’ll be working leisurely in the office due to the forced RTO.

Quitting? No.

Looking for a new job? Definitely.

ah, so you are one of the worthless mangers (mine was a weasel, and his one up was terrible too). As a 'keyboard warrior',I didn't get a chance to quit, I was laid off and collected 14 months of pay while reading about you types complaining.........

what did I do today? nothing. You? go to work?

AHAHAHHAHA.

I guess you win. :)

"The whole “I’m not leaving unless I’m paid to leave!” mantra is the scapegoat of those who couldn’t leave if they wanted to."

maybe. My financial guy told me I could leave/quit/retire 2 years ago. I said, 'pi-s on that, wf is still paying me every 2 weeks'.

so, in a way, I did say, "I’m not leaving unless I’m paid to leave!”, and then, they did. and after 14 months of payment, I slid into retirement.

Best thing that ever happened to me! Thanks wf!

Yeah, it couldn't possibly be that a person respects their directs, peers, and manager and is well compensated here. I'm not leaving because I don't want to. And yes, if the mo--n in NYC wants me to leave he'll have to pay. F him. Him wanting us all to quit is reason enough not to do it out of spite. He's tormented to many workers already, none of which deserved it.

im feeling confident about a recent job search so if all goes well Ill get an offer in the coming weeks and start just after bonus payout. if not, I'll keep looking.

@whc+1q6z6DEV Tell me you have no marketable skills and have been left behind due to your own laziness without telling me you have no marketable skills and have been left behind.

The whole “I’m not leaving unless I’m paid to leave!” mantra is the scapegoat of those who couldn’t leave if they wanted to.

I have posted before on other related threads … giving my notice on 2/5. Job lined up with another bank. I know the hiring manager, so he’s been flexible on timing as he knows the big banks pay nice bonuses. Can’t wait to be out of here. Toxic place. Has really gone down the tubes and I am on year 8 at WF.

Wow! OP sounds like a pretty co--y manager…..like the mgr I had asking team during last year’s reviews 1-1 if we planned to stay at WF.
Does it matter? He receives a heads up of who’s being displaced. We all have a number on our backs…. I say milk the money “wagon” as long as you can!

OP is ná§ty, goading those who are stuggling w/the decision.

Terrifying that you're a manager.

"What say you, are you really going to quit after you get your bonus"?

Why quit? Makes no sense. Anyone seriously contemplating resigning from WF, an employer on the record reporting continued large Reduction In Force via the paid severance route, should be very savvy by now on how to work the system to their advantage.

If I'm not let go by the end of 2024 with severance, I will quit right after bonus in 2025. I've already put the groundwork in place and have my line in the sand. I hope more are doing this rather than sitting around worrying.

Start applying now. It will take weeks for interviewing/consideration, 1 week processing, then 2 week notice.
