Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Being laid off would be a kindness at this point

Overworked doesn't even begin to cover the state I and my entire team are in right now. If the hope is to get us to the point where we will be completely burnt out and quit, I hate to say it but it's working. I'm dreading Monday so much that I'm now this close to saying f you to everybody and not showing up tomorrow.

In California, 4 hours meets the criteria for working a full day for salaries employees.

I’m in the same boat. I’ve been here 15 years. Used to love it here, took pride in my work and put in long hours. I dread everything about it now. On Sunday nights I stay up way too late, clinging to the day because I know if I drift off the next thing I know it will be time to drive in. I’m trying to hang on until after bonus, but going another few weeks feels like Mount Everest. I feel I’m too burned out to successfully interview for jobs so am planning a short sabbatical in February and March. A layoff notice would make for one of the best days of my life at this point.

No need to work more than 40 hours. Whatever you can get done in that time is what you can do. You won’t get an exceeds for working hard and you’ll still get laid off if your team needs to shed headcount. Bare minimum from the company to you, bare minimum in return.

don't overwork yourself. you'll get the same rating and respect if you put in 50% effort or 150% so do the minimum and save your sanity. No job is worth that.
