“According to Dice’s 2023 Tech Sentiment Report, 60% of tech workers in general are interested in leaving their jobs in 2024, which is up from 52% the year prior. This poses a major competitive opportunity for non-tech enterprises to attract tech talent.”
My two cents - massive layoffs may come back to bite big tech companies in the a-s. Once there is a rebound, or the reorganization proves not to be that smartly designed, or the AI turns out not to be a master solution, or any combination of the above, there will be no tech workers to come back. They will be sitting in other companies. In the worst case scenario, we will be in a better position to negotiate.
