401K

If you were there through year end, but let go last week, do I still get the match?

Yes. You should get it. Should hit around March 31st.

Those crying the deficiency of others in financial literacy should not allow their insecurity to lead them.

Why not log in to your voya and generate a statement for December 2023, yup there’s a Company match 3 year vest line with 0.00 contribution. Educate yourself so you don’t need to be a di-k.

@1gdj

I’m thinking that coworkers are still mixing up vesting of RSUs at Fidelity and Voya 401K matches. 401K contributions and matches don’t need to “vest”. They are yours the moment they’re in VOYA.

It’s frightening how little understanding there is regarding personal financial literacy.

Echoing 401K match before 3 years up.

Sadly, from posts here it seems that most employees have been checking Fidelity for their matches. We obviously don’t hire the brightest bulbs.

Sheesh, to those worried about 3 years, log into voya and see if your match is vested.

I was also confused why the three years of service was brought up on the separations session with impacted employees.

Was the company rep just confused with the requirements for the BK Shares that take three years to vest?

Found this:
“ Anyone terminated without cause on or after Oct. 1 could also get the match, as well as employees who are approved for long-term disability. Employees who die during the year can qualify for the annual match as long as they were active employees at the time of death, according to the internal memo.” (From https://web.archive.org/web/20230130193521/https://www.post-gazette.com/business/career-workplace/2023/01/30/bny-mellon-401k-overhaul-retirement-employees-matching-accounts/stories/202301290054 )

No mention at all in the Nov 29, 2023 memo about a 3 year of service clause before you get the match.

Very important. Thanks!

I thought you had to be there for three years to get the match. Is anyone still employed that can check the fine print?
