Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Did any 1278 OTF SEEDs get negative feedback on Q4 Insights?

I am a G7 eng in OTF (AZ Ocotillo site) and was told, during the 1:1 for Q4 Insights, that I am not performing to my grade level (not enough scope and influence) and was rated as "Partially on Track"...but I am still selected for SEED. How is this possible? Any thoughts? Anyone else in the same boat?

My .02…. Since I left there I am only giving educated guess on what is going on. But, I have a feeling that your manager (probably across OTF even) were asked to meet a distribution during this last insights round. This means someone has to go under the bus and get a poor review. The purpose of this is to deliver to HR a method of culling people later in the quarter if business conditions come to that. It doesn’t necessarily mean you will go into redeployment, but you are at risk. I’d freshen my resume and batten down the finance hatches if I were you just in case.

I used to be at OTF but switched to another org in Chandler. I instantly had more opportunities because we were allowed to think and go after opportunities never available at OTF.

Sorry, but it sounds like you are toast. Your manager dinged you for two attributes that are both hard to quantify and hard to measure. You can only succeed if they choose to let you. They kept you in the program so that you will continue to work hard. Take the warning signs and prepare yourself. Continue working like you always have but get the resume ready, update LinkedIn, and start applying for jobs outside of intel. It is easier to get a job if you still have one. Good luck!
