Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

HR PySoP on LinkedIn

What are the chances HR is using bots and/or making LI accounts using fake WF employee names to try and get current employees or those in a notice-period, to quit and/or forfeit severance.

A potential scenario could be this...
" Hi, Not a Sheep!

I was intrigued by your extensive background and was wondering if you're open to exploring new opportunities. Are you interested to find out more about potential franchise ownership opportunities in your area?

If so, do you mind sharing a good phone number to schedule a phone call?"

And then you respond after clicking on their profile that lists said person as Lisa Quinn, a Commercial Sales Specialist at Wells Fargo with 0 followers and 0 connections and 0 activity and confirming no such person exists in Workday...

"Hi Lisa,

I can't find you in Workday, who is your manager at Wells?"

Now Lisa's profile is longer and the messages have been magically deleted as well.

This is all hypothetically speaking of course...

HR isn’t that smart to put something like that together

I get those in my private account all the time, and I report it as phishing, spam.

OP, those are mostly just scams. ANyone asking for any information about you online, via email, text, or phone, is a scammer.

Scammers can get a name and title of an actual FTE, so the request looks legit.

There are lots of resources online to teach you how to be safe online.

We make people take driving tests, to keep people safe. The internet is far more dangerous if you're not careful

lol, do you dorks really think we are that competent and in order to conduct such a thing? FFS, there would be zero reason to do this. There's enough going on w/out any of this kind of thing.

No sh-t there are stupid posts on this board. It's too bad that probably 95% of them are anything but layoff related.

My wife (who does not work at Wells) has gotten these emails before as well. May be a scam or phishing.
