Did anyone hire a lawyer to review the separation document? I’m considering it..

Our coworkers have no clue. Are we really hiring clueless millennials with hundreds of participation trophies?
Well, guess you’re simply one more proof of the old adage that “common sense isn’t all that common.
Best that you reorient your mind from grabbing money that you don’t deserve and work harder to make money. You’re at a fork in the road between doing what’s right and trying to take money that you don’t deserve.

And now that you know that you weren’t subject to unfairly being pushed out and that there was no bias discrimination against you, and that that you could not renegotiate an incredibly good deal despite that your mother has always told youthat you were “Special”, and you tried and failed to negotiate your 12 week package to 24 week, hired a lawyer and still got the 12 weeks and had to pay the lawyer paid the $2,000, I have a question…

The real question child, is whether you’ve learned anything. Everything that you posted turned out not to work. Focus on your career and don’t try to get over. Try to find a job. You’re at a critical junction between self sufficiency and permanent government dependence.

To state the obvious young un, your have no basis to contest a package which Is far better than any peer bank. You can’t say that I didn’t warn you because I did three times and I was 100% correct.

I felt I was unfairly being pushed out and that there was bias discrimination against me. I tried to negotiate the 12 week package to 24 weeks. I hired a lawyer and I still got the 12 weeks and paid the lawyer $2,000.
What is a lawyer going to do, this is a common practice. Instead of wasting energy trying to think you have any chance to sue a large corporation for layoffs due to economy downfall, start looking for a new job.
If you really don’t understand the package, want peace of mind and have the funds then do it. Surprised how many people do not understand you can apply for unemployment, just as an example.
If you think you are going to get something then don’t, it’s a waste of money. As cr-ppy as the place is the package is good.
Know lots of people that had a lawyer review it, just to make sure nothing new slipped in.
Getting a lawyer is a big waste of time and money. Enjoy your time off and apply for unemployment or another job.
Getting nothing? It’s worse than that. How about getting nothing if you don’t win?, plus paying your lawyer after you lose. BNYM Sub is an excellent package.
Questions to consider:
Do you want or need to work again? Other employers may find out if you try to sue.
What do you hope to get? Research average awards. Are they higher or lower than your package? Are you ok with getting nothing if you don’t win? What kind of proof did they have?

No you didn't.
People have been posting about getting a lawyer and organizing a class action suit forever here. Ain’t going to happen and you have zero case. The amazing aspect of it is that the SUB is our only benefit that stands out as the best in banking.
Most banks terminate you with 2 weeks pay… just for your perspective.
Most of you would be wasting your money.
You’re only going to receive more favorable terms if you have a solid case that they are unfairly discriminating or retaliating against you.
Otherwise, your either sign the agreement or you don’t, and if the latter, you won’t receive SUB pay or continue to have health coverage paid for.

I’d say if you are at the end of your career, then go engage one. For those that need to work to pay bills there’s no bandwidth to deal with the emotional work of all that’s required for years-long litigation. All the big banks spend a lot of salary on corporate lawyers, it’s all stacked against the common working man.
