Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Impossible to do right at WF

You can come in the office or work remote, show up to every meeting, provide emergency help and be a top performer. Yet at the end of the day you and your efforts will be dragged down to whatever the average amounts to across the company.

The problem stems from a lack of engagement and abandonment with a dash of no accountability.

This is 100% the root issue at WF from the very top to the very bottom (and was certainly occurring before 2016).

You can develop an improvement today, only to see it diluted tmrw.

If we take a moment to objectively look at ourselves within WF, it is obvious we are paid to serve a purpose in random myopic moments that ultimately do not combine together for any greater goal. Working at WF is the equivalent of wading through an infinite amount of eddies, none powerful enough to bring you to any center while still being able to subject you to a constant feeling of sea sickness.

The company has done a great disservice to many good people and served greatly to many subpar people. This is what WF's tombstone would say.

Unfortunately, for many of us who work hard to do right by our customers every day, upper management undermines us at every turn in the road. No… There’s no reason to excel at your job. You will not be rewarded.

Brilliant statement.... "If we take a moment to objectively look at ourselves within WF, it is obvious we are paid to serve a purpose in random myopic moments that ultimately do not combine together for any greater goal." Will you please be my manager?

It’s about dei, same as communism, socialism. Nobody’s better or worst. We’re all the same. Why even excel, you’ll be treated the same as the next Joe blow.

I was a top performer at my last two jobs and got canned. I'm at another company now and there is no way I'm doing more than any other team member, thinking that if I do, I will be safe.

This will and should be an epic post. Your efforts are not rewarded at Wells for the reasons you say -- specific to Wells.
