Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Hillsboro, Oregon Barnhart hub

Are the employees in the Hillsboro location getting laid off soon? I heard the lease at Barnhart Center was going to be expiring this year but when? And there was no source from what I last saw.

You (or anyone else) are never as indispensable as you think you are. And never underestimate WF.

If John Delaney said end of 2025, note that it often takes roughly 6 months to decommission a building after all the employees are out (pull out all the WF equipment, furniture, etc.) I predict everyone will be gone from OR no later than July or August 2024. I’m sorry!

They are not going to just lay everyone in the building off at once. Some of us are in very important roles and integral to our departments. They’re not going to just lay us off, our managers won’t let that happen. We’ll just be made remote probably.

they are not waiting for the leases. 2/3 already laid off, the rest will be done in the first wave this year.

Anyone know whether the timeline to shutter the downtown Portland office is the end of 2024, or end of 2025? 2025 could mean within the next two years.

It was confirmed by John Delaney during our townhall meeting recently that yes, the lease is to expire in 2025. He could not give more answers if they would renew or break the lease.
Just because he said 2025 does not mean they can't let everyone go next week and leave the building empty.

All Oregon Locations — Portland, Beaverton, Hillsboro will be closing in 2025 - WF will no longer have a presence in Oregon. An all-hands call was held yesterday with leadership.

They broke the lease at Sunset, they can do it for Barnhart too. Most folks are going to hold out for severance but you should start networking and upskilling now for your exit plan.

Wells Fargo is exiting Oregon completely. There have been other posts about this.

Best I could find on the building was from an Office Capitol Market Report that cited that Hines bought it in April 2022 and there’s a 29 month hold. 29 months out from Aril 2022 is September 2024. From what I could understand Hines can sell the building after that point. I’m still looking for leasing details.

I completely agree. Mostly been left in the dark. No idea what’s going on, drives me nuts. Apparently Washington County records show lease is up this year. Who knows!

I heard lease is up in 2025. I think it will go in waves until then, LOB based. No one will divulge anything, wish there were more whistleblowers on this site or those willing to let us peek behind the curtain.
