Shell payoffs starting with LCS

UK supermajor Shell has reportedly started to slash hundreds more jobs, with employees in its low-carbon solutions being among those first to the shown the door.

The energy behemoth last October said that 200 jobs in its low-carbon solutions — about 15% of the total — would be lost with a further 130 positions up for review.

Eventually the LCS scam will become clear to the US taxpayer and the system will fail.

There is no logical path for XOM LCS to ever generate competitive rates of return. It is simply a means of placating politicians and shareholders.

The much ballyhooed energy transition is going to take a long, long time, and as long as hydrocarbons are to be found, they will be a substantial part of the energy mix.

Well LCS only has 200 employees so I guess that would be 100% of our team. Amazing we are leaner in this aspect even after buying alll that CO2 infrastructure.

interesting comments on Shell pay, used to be higher than XOM. They used to aim to pay close to top, whereas XOM’ target was 75%, which I think now is closer to 50% goal.

Shell doesn't pay as much as Exxon, but we only have to go into the office two days a week and we get 9/80s. That's my preference. My cousin works at EM and he prefers the extra $$$ as he likes going into the office. To each his own.

By the way, Shell is getting ready to lay of THOUSANDS, not just hundreds.

Also work for Shell. Upper management does occasionally make comments about wanting to be like EM.

Regular staff though? Nope. We're good with hybrid work (only two required in-office days per week), 9/80 schedule, and no forced ranking.

Wait I work for Shell now. They do not run around wanting to be like Exxonmobil. Most folks talk about Exxonmobil being a heck hole.

My friend at Shell said they openly discuss how they are trying to “become Exxon”.
