Management will invoke fear by saying your location isn’t a preferred one, they’ll watch people leave to get ahead of it then stop the bleeding once they see enough attrition.
I think it’s telling that across the industry executives are saying the problem is not enough attrition. The financial services industry was getting too competitive. Now they’re colluding to divvy up markets which will ultimately drive down wages.
Don’t make it easy on them. Collect your severance. You’ve earned it
