Do the job that you’re being paid to do. Prepare for a new job on your own time.

Learn all you can, then move on when you find a better fit job.

Its okay to be not okay
This place is for boot lickers ,back stabbers and the ones in the family plan.
Others are pretty much put under the bus when the bus arrives.

That's no way to spend your days. I'd consider leaving. Please don't say that you can't, because if that's your response, feeling that way is the majority of the the problem. You likely feel helpless. I know that feeling. The key is to have some self determination and help yourself find a better situation. Easier said than done I know, but thats with everything. Which is why you need to do it.

I was at some team meetings before I was terminated and my peers were worried as well. Their worry was about the fear of the unknown. I would suggest creating a PLAN would help reduce the worry. Lay out the next steps if you stay with the company or if you get terminated. Work on that plan. You will find that you don't have time to worry and you will be more certain of your future. Did my plan work out the way I wanted it to? No. But I had a backup plan and am in good shape.

Good luck.

Ford sending all engineering, programming, testing out of country as they look for cheaper labor and their vehicles are cheap.

The Ford family selling Americans off just like in the early 1900's.

I am with you @OP. I was in your situation before. As others said, always looking for other positions outside Ford during the difficult time. Once you have backup positions/plans, you won't be bothered too much by what's happening here. It is sad, but it is true.

Ford only cares about that F'ing union. After they gave the union everything, the engineers will pay and pay.

OP: Stay positive my friend. Like someone else said here, it is ok to worry a little bit but don't let it control your life.

Be prepared. Keep your resume up to date. Do the best you can at work.
Learn new skills.

As long as you do the above you have nothing to worry about.

Always give yourself options. Look for new jobs constantly and/or have something else on the side..or be like some of your colleagues run your business during working hours.

To the person who said “you are the problem:” you are probably some sn-t-nose college graduate with zero life experience.

To the poster that is worried about your job: I hear you and it’s a valid worry. It’s really very simple. Apply to other jobs and do your best at your current position. That’s what I did. I was able to find another job and I have zero regrets about leaving Ford.

I wish Ford the best but I’m not betting my career on it so I took action. If you believe everything in the Town Halls then you are a fool….at least with Farley at the helm.

Good luck to you

"I am an old man and have known a great many troubles, but most of them never happened."

You need to stop worrying about things you can't control. It's wasted energy.
Think it through. You have zero say in any decision Ford makes to lets you go or not.
All you can really do focus on your work and keep your resume up to date.

Don't listen to these haters. Take it day by day and try to enjoy your life with your current job. If it comes to it and you get fired worry about it then. I have been concerned for years but I did not let it prevent me from going away on vacations. Try to enjoy each day and worry later.

You are the problem. Ford needs people who do stuff, not people who sit and worry about things waiting for someone else to decide for them. Grow a pair and apply yourself or apply elsewhere, you sound would be well suited for a government job.
