Thread regarding Ford layoffs

The worst company to work for

I keep discouraging people from applying. I don't want to be responsible for them joining this mess and ruining both their career and lives.

Not even close to being true. Try working for Macy's.

@ris+1qH5bzCy - Now I don't think that is a fair deal to see Ford tenure as a "stain". Write off the company for sure if you want. But don't write off the employee for taking a job there. There is a chance after all that they are not corrupted from working there and that they have skill applicable to one of your positions. I think that is a pretty raw deal to be honest and you'd be cheating your organization out of some good people in the long run.

Do the job that you’re being paid to do. Prepare for a new job on your own time.

I wish someone had discouraged me from working at Ford.

I am also an employer in the automotive. I agree with the previous post but I take it a step further. I do not hire anybody who has worked on an EV real or project. That includes Tesla employees. I think this whole push for electrification is a pipedream that will vanish into thin air soon enough. I've pulled myself up by my bootstraps and so will this country. Gasoline and Coal will continue to be our leading fuels.

As an employer in the automotive supplier community, Ford experience is a stain, not an advantage, on your resume. Appreciating that it’s not right to paint all Ford employees with one stroke, but the toxic culture, backstabbing, and self aggrandizing behaviors have no place in the workplace outside of Ford. And if you’re from Ford Purchasing, you are invisible to the supplier community.

If you are unhappy then you should leave. You need to priortize your happiness and wellbeing. Even complaining about it is stressful and will wear you down. If you haven't already, start looking for another job and leave this one behind.

Yup I wish someone had told me that. Been here for 2 years and it’s been a horrible experience

Was lied to about everything when I joined ( oh you will have team work and collaboration, we will foster career development, etc)

I stay awake at night dreaming about the day I leave this place

People have reached out to me to refer them and I have said please save your career and go else where

I left the company because of this. After 5 years on nonsense, I learned nothing by doing spreadsheets and ppt for my LL6. I lost my skills and talent from working at Ford. It was tough to find another job with another company. I now feel more motivated and productive working for Toyota.
