Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

The stage is being set for VBG being sold

With all the devaluation and intellectual knowledge being off shored to HCL for free use in their systems , Verizon is preparing a way to complete a full sale to HCL once they figure out the Federal space. Verizon is training its main competitor

All this doesn’t matter, at least what we think. If the board says make the stock go up no if ands or butts they would sell their mother off. Everybody down to 1 year olds has a phone and access to the internet is no longer a problem. It’s just a matter of keeping them and taking away customers from the competition. All that is left is to throw away the weak links. DONT BE A WEAK LINK!

I’m not going to say it isn’t possible with the write down to 1.7B. However that unit accounted for 1/5th of the company revenue seems like a good chunk to lose. That unit is what is given government allocated funds. Plus the tax benefits, such as VZW leasing from VZB. It’s a payment from the company to
The company and it’s also a tax write off. I’m just a peon though so who knows

Can definitely see this happening. Spectum, Zayo, Cogent, Lumen would love these assets. From an article, realize that selling wireline circuits is not profitable much anymore : .." carriers such as Verizon used to get a lot of money from selling MPLS circuits to business customers. But now, even though the carriers may still retain those customers, they only get a portion of the pie. The other providers of connectivity also get a portion. And the biggest portion goes to the SD-WAN vendor." When was the last time Verizon Business wireline gained revenue ?

Lots of cope here. There is minimal value in the remaining assets. Accept it. Know there is a fire sale coming and accept it.

Verizon Business is not entirely the same as Verizon Business Group for many who don’t understand differences. Yes it’s part of VBG but Verizon Business = VZB = Enterprise Wireline. The writing is on the wall. The write down was for wireline assets primarily MCI.

This is the most ridiculous statement ever! Let's sell off the most successful part of the business! Close the thread!

Selling off small groups that can be off shored was plausible and happened. Vz has acquired massive networks and backbones. Hundreds of thousands of miles of fiber, back bone equipment l, data centers and so much more. It’s hard to believe a sale that large could be possible to a company like hcl. Who could afford it and that would vz be willing to give up all the free money from uncle Sam. Like giving up the faa contract they fought to win.
