Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Are Any Extra PTO Days Allocated for Moving?

Are any additional days off given to cover the logistics of moving to Texas?

Not moving will get you freedom. Do not became a prisoner of T. They will use you and abuse you. Show them your middle finger. There is life after T.

You have to report to the office 3 days a week. Work Monday through Wednesday one week and then Wednesday through Friday the next week. There you go. You have a week to move in between. Just check your emails in the car every hour. You’ll be fine.

"Not for management (idk about union) .
However, you have 2 other options - we have 14 PTO days for 'caregiver leave', so if you've moved and have not yet been able to secure schools or care for a child/disabled spouse, etc, you can use those. Also, there is a LOA policy you can request a few weeks off (but unpaid of course and only if all PTO is used). "

...why on earth is there a downvote on this lol? It's just a fact about options. People are weird.

Long standing SBC play. They keep running it. They used it in a major way following the Ameritech takeover in Chicago to clean house - your jobs in San Antonio. HA HA Ha. Not really. Don't be a fool.

Don’t move. There is no guarantee your job will even be there after your move. I know of two people that moved from STL to Dallas in wave one and were laid off before Christmas.

I would be interested in hearing more details about this, especially the timeline, if the sold a house and moved a family, how long they worked at T,etc.

and don't forget that the days you move won't get counted as days in the office, so you'll also make their noncompliance reports.

The TCJA suspended moving expense deductions for 2016 starting for tax years 2018 through 2025 for all nonmilitary taxpayers. Active-duty military members who move due to a permanent change of duty station can still deduct moving expenses. Trump became President in 2018.

Not that I'm aware of. And the trump tax cuts of 2017 removed moving expense deductions. Fyi.

You wish. Relocate on your own dime, on weekend or after your day in the office. Enjoy.
