Chinese EVs are coming in 2026

Brace yourself. Chinese EVs are coming to the US in 2026. This is why Tesla is building the new $25K EV in 2025.

Elon Musk said Chinese automakers will have significant success outside of China. "If there are not trade barriers established, they will pretty much demolish most other car companies in the world."

Isn't the nextgen Edge made in China? I saw one in a neighbor's drive late last summer. China has been pounding on the US markets door for ages. I do not vote for Romney and his Baine Capital cronies because they would have let the Chinese autos in. Biden will let it happen and it will be horrible. More wealth will leave Michigan and taxes/fees will keep climbing.

When the CEO of Stellantis says his biggest worry is cheap china EVs with better technology, and at a much lower cost, you better believe him. How many folks out there have recent bought a Zenith, or Sony, or Panasonic TV? Guess what....same thing is going to happen in the auto industry.

Why can't one say 'Taiwan is a country' or 'China is evil' on this site?

Fiat came and left, Volvo came went under was bought out by Geely the Chinese BEV maker of Polestar fame, The list of world beaters who didn't work out is long. Chinese BEV, LOL maybe they can talk GM into providing service and support! Just for grins, youtube "BYD fires" and have a look. Pot stirring distraction.

Customers will pass up China BEV's for the next-gen Model e offerings guaranteed.

I am not worried about any alleged China BEV onslaught.

Idk I'll believe it when I see it. China has been trying to enter the US market for ages. Either they can't do it, or import controls have been/will continue to stop it.

Meanwhile, Vinfast already sells here after existing for... a few years.

I'd spring for a Tesla before anything as blatant as that kind of support for a Chinese company was parked in my driveway. Then again, because of the battery plant / tech licensing deal, Ford essentially sold it's soul anyway. What a mess. No wonder they wanted to fire the whole of city councils that let this go through. At least where real, connected people to society are concerned, these clowns can be voted the he-l out and basically ran out of town.

The demolition of consumer manufacturing is a strategic military objective. That capacity of r mass production is converted overnight to war production when needed. This happened in World War II. This is what enabled the U.S. to overwhelm a technologically superior Germany. China learned.
