Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Humbling moments?

Recently we had a meeting where our LLx talked about their "humbling moments", A.K.A, some of their sc--w ups last year. Which I found really weird, since our "leadership" is "infalible", not needing any SME to solve any technical problem. (IDK about "infalible", but I can say our LLx don't need any SME to consistently pick up the wrong solution to the problem. They are not the most "knowitall", more like the most "knowitless"). At least they believe themselves, like Fartley in the C-suite, as the smartest guys in the room.

Anyway, as I said, I found this "humbling" behaviour odd, to say the least. Well, it seems that when all our managers were singing their praises to the C-suite, and lying through their teeth about all the successes and accomplishments done in 2023, Fartley was listening in, and asked them about their "humbling moments". Of course, this question got the managers by surprise and nobody could spin a nice failure-self learning story. So now all LLx are practicing their humbling stories with their GSR public.

Then I had a question blossoming on my mind, and decided to post it here. How big was the humble pie served last year to Fartley? I'd like to know his humbling moments last year. I'd love more to hear the explanations and apologies made to the Ford family by Fartley. They had to be extremely good since he is still around, and no announcement of a replacement yet. I know he is a marketing guy, like saying he is a better snake oil salesman, but I mean... is he that good or is the Ford family so d-mb?

I remember a year ago there was gossip that farley was on his way out... i cant remeber what exactly was preceived tipping point. Theres so many its hard to remember them all.

Yet here we are a year or so later. And now 50 percent or so of salary is below expectations. I wouldnt be surprised if that was faroeys idea or got his stamp of apprivap without thinking it makes him and his peers look pretty bad.

But then again biggest recalls of 2023 and sc--wing up negotions with uaw that cost money. That doesnt hurt Farley. Does the board rate him below expectations? If so usually thats a CEO termination.

Humbling that we make SUV’s, trucks, and BEV’s that no one trusts or buys as evidenced by our industry leading inventory.

They (management) needs to have their profit sharing docked so a large portion goes to the GSR for dealing with their mess(es) all the time.
Is not this what the ABOVE / AT / BELOW philosophy is for ?
My chief and your gets two new cars per year for life for this bumbling mess-up.
We did not even mention extravagant pay and bonus !

Only after publicly humiliating your employees and destroyed many people's careers and family lives.

It was humbling this year, seeing us take the championship title again for the most recalls and worst quality among auto companies.

Very humbling.

The “Humbling Moments” schtick is simply a warm-up for the coming Layoffs.

It prepares the ground and helps folks “humbly” understand why they are losing their job.🫂
