Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

RTO Ad Nauseam

Sorry for another RTO item.
Our DEI mission is to build an inclusive workforce that represents the communities we serve. Example: Hire and develop persons of color proportional to their representation in communities. But, would it also make sense to have representation equivalent to the population of “remote workers” in our communities employed in our communities working at AT&T? I.E. if 20% of US workers are remote, shouldn’t AT&T strive to achieve that milestone? Again, sorry for sounding like a broken MP3.

I don’t think most have any problem with proportional representation, with merit. With the exception of the C-suite, employees below that level has over representation of certain minority groups and underrepresentation of the majority. End of day merit and best person for the job.

Successful business’s mission should be to sell good products, have good customer service and create a good work environment to make the business, employees and shareholders profitable. So, Go woke, Go broke! Is the cautionary tale for cultural experiments.

DEI is dead. Have not heard a thing about in at least a year. Just like RTO and many other things, T followed others when that was implemented. There is no way the leadership truly believed what the agenda was.

96% of the worlds population isn’t from the US, therefore to match the DEI percent, 96% of jobs need off shored.

Let’s not pretend DEI is about proportional hiring by representation or population.

If it does not reduce the number of head count then it does not matter. RTO is nothing more than a reduction in force action that is not being publicized. Finance is shutting down a hub (Atlanta) that is predominantly black and probably a higher percentage of blacks than any other "hub" city. ATT does not care about diversity. The real question is where is the DEI officer right now?! She should be shouting from the rafters about shutting down Atlanta.
