Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

How much do you hate it here?

Would you take a 50% pay cut and be happily employed somewhere else or stay at your current pay and be miserable at T?

50% paycut. everyone acts like att pays so well. I left have never made less than what I was making at att and getting bigger bonusses and still in the telecommunications field but hey according to att employees they are the only game in town.

50% paycut? Nobody with any self respect would do that.

I would take a functional pay EQUIVALENT if that meant I didnt't have to go to the office anymore.

Which would mean:

  • Reduced pay, but only reduced by the amount of money I'd save not commuting
  • Working someplace that values my productivity more than my attendance to an empty room with monitors in it
  • Not having AT&T's Executive Team be decision makers.

Hate is a bit much but I strongly dislike leadership, their micromanagement and mismanagement of employees/assets. Pay is ok, benefits are constantly eroding especially, healthcare and retirement match.

I stuck it out - some yrs bad and some good - I have known some good people and glad I worked with them. I retired end of 2022 after 23 yrs with $700k in 401K and lump sum - now my passport is full - need more pages

T’s checks don’t bounce
Work load not bad
Boss is cool
I’ve had worse employment elsewhere for less money

No. I have obligations that require me to be miserable just a little while longer.

And a 122% bonus payout helps me to deal with the misery.

The only people working at T that like their jobs are under age 30, and are accumulating all the vacation time and pay that T has taken away from senior employees, that actually work and know their jobs.

I’d take a small hit to stay employed. So irritated I’m being let go because I don’t live in Texanistan.

50%? Heck no. I’m already underpaid. I’ll keep my same salary and WFH, but this in the office garbage is pointless and costs me more. Maybe for some people this is better, but for most, yeah I’m not seeing the collaboration they are talking about. Pointless.
