L&Ds customers are employees right? We keep shipping more and more jobs out of the US. Maybe they feel people need to live in the same culture to best train them or something.
There is something that doesn't sit right with me at all. Lou's message said this is to better align with our global customers. Other than some network stuff, we don't have global customers. We sell most of our services in the United States.
Either she is revealing we are being bought or buying a company and becoming global again from the old Vodaphone days or she is lying about the reasons and can't even be honest with her team that this is just a cost savings move.

1fc, yes but just for a short time. You just one day work for them and lose all your tenure. They start you off at the same pay and a year later get to reapply for your job at a lower Indian rate or get laid off without severance because they don't have the same regs about notice or severance as domestic companies.

I got rebadged to HCL in November and the training is a joke here. Automated AI Indian voices using incorrect grammar and impossible to understand.

So much for being recognized as one of the best training groups in the world. Hans and Lou liquidated most of our best talent.
I hope most of us end up in the same place six months from now so we can steal all those awards for our new company.
The people I know in L&D that got let go were some of the best. How is some L&D person in India or the Philippines know what happens in the US as far as how the phone company works?
Have you seen the third world sh-t that is going on over there with communications? 2000 drops on a single pole. Guess what….VZ will be cutting corners on safety and quality…next thing you know it will look like Bangkok and Bangladesh here in America. What a shame.
I still remember being let go from a gte version of L&D so very long ago (OLCD). It was a terrible day so early in my career.
I don’t think people in the US need to worry about struggling with taking training developed offshore. They’ll probably just be busy making training for all our replacements overseas.
Now instead of developing the American developers will get to log in, fix the mistakes of the cheap intls, pass the work back to them to fu-k up so they can fix it again when they log in tomorrow. I love how Hans is speed running the same mistakes every greedy a--hole CEO has tried but with the added twist of ensuring there are inefficiencies instead of having atleast half the work be decent.
Are they looking to merge with that Indian partner company eventually or is Hans min/maxing his bonuses until the business crumbles?

I heard on my call L&D for VCG, B2B, Ops. I’m not sure what percentage of those groups. I’m not even sure I know anyone else impacted but myself so I can’t wait to start playing the game next week of awkwardly asking “so uhhhhhhh are you safe or……?”
Which L&D? We all do design & delivery - is it specific studios or the teams that supported the now HCL employees?
