Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

My work ending

I’ve heard various rumblings about the MyWork program….that they are going to have to re-certify and/or come back in the office. Anyone know anything?
I got pulled out of it a long time ago and supposedly the whole program was going to be abolished. But we still have hundreds of people in cities with many offices still in the program. Another morale buster.

I know someone on myWork and there is no medical accommodation. He's been on myWork for many years. He says it gets reviewed every 2-3 years and was brought up again end of last year. He complained if he had to come in he'd have to drive in traffic, find parking, pay for gas, etc., etc.

I live out of foot print but agree with above poster that questioning invisible disability is low. It’s like medical LOA and requires a lot of paper work.

Everyone I know in MyWork is on a medical accommodation and was prior to Covid.

I heard ** 135 S LaSalle 540 W Madison** knew how to party. They even had ` YouTube karaoke` parties as part of their scrum ceremonies.

True on the previous comment....around the 2016 timeframe there was a push to bring people back into the office or as they would say strategic site locations, essentially operations buildings like 135 S LaSalle 540 W Madison both in Chicago, etc. Space was very limited so that was the rationale for layoffs. If you were not coded for MYWORK then you were in office, although like in my case i was a person of 1 and my team was scattered across the US, so I came and went as I pleased. The MYWORK coded employees were the ones targeted due to lack of space, etc.

Many are still on MyWork and on it without medical accommodation. Some people simply have a long commute or kids to pick up and care for or moved away to cheaper places, etc… Few are well connected - example - the husband is a big boss and a friend of her boss… etc. Some are b3 - and well, they can do no wrong…

Years ago, was told MyWork ending. (so had to tell one of my Top Performers -- who'd moved 2 hours away (b/c she got MARRIED!) - to start driving back in or leave the company. (never mind that she was an Event Planner, who traveled more weeks than not)

Pre-Covid - then told, "well, it never really went away." (huh??)

Post-Covid - "it still exists, but on the down-low. It's separate from Medical Accommodation"

Fast forward -- no one has an f-ing clue. Can't get a straight answer from HR or Senior Leader.

Yet, the Top Guy still rakes in $30MM smackers for cr-p management. Take a break from getting your azz kissed and wake the f up..

Questioning someone's hidden disability is the worst of kind of prejudice. It is unbelievable a professional let alone a coworker at the bank would even think that.

Is it still a program or just the exemption for RTO due to medical reasons?

Not ending but annual certification is required. I hope anyone without "real" medical reasons is required to follow the same rules as the rest of us.

Yes. I was a “victim” of the end of MyWork - but it didn’t “end”. LOL….

I wish someone asked me all those years ago if there was a need for it. I would have tried to come up with SOMEthing. Wonder what’s considered a “need”?

Heard similar. The “unfair” way the bank made so many come back in years ago yet others sit 5 minutes from an office in Charlotte on MyWork is another gut punch. Also - the threat of bringing them back in may cause some to quit. Another “attrition” move.

Everyone enrolled in My Work is subject to an annual review (starting this year) to determine if there is a valid need to remain in the program.

8 years ago they announced that the my work program was ending and many who could not get into an office were laid off back then.
