It is mostly trolls who don't work for Ford just stirring the pot.

When you get an unexpected meeting on your calendar one evening of 15 to 30 minutes with an ~LL4 scheduled for the next morning, you'll know what's coming.

With various division RTO and the focus on employee objectives, I’m speculating that they are hoping remote workers quit and then next layoff will be Aug.

Appears that bunny slippers got rid of several software VPs in the last week.

They can get around that if they pay out a severance deal more than the fine would be.

Real gr--seball stuff.

@uoc - pallets of boxes is no longer a sign. No one has their own personal space to pack things.

Any claim of a layoff in the near future can be reliably ignored if the poster doesn’t back it up.

For example, if someone posts, “I was down in shipping yesterday and they just got 40 pallets of banker boxes in,” well, that says to me something is up. Then combine that with, “All the managers have been in secret meeting all week (no info on calendars, just times)” your know they’re making plans. Make friends in IT and security. They know in advance.

What we always did at GM was check for WARN notices. Unless it's a very small number, it will be there. Or they will give everybody at least two months severance and health care.

Is it that odd for there to be layoff discussions on thelayoff.com?

On most cases @ony+1qUM16BV is correct.

However the last two layoffs in 2022 & 2023 were predicted correctly here. There are some good nuggets of information here, you just need to learn to ignore the trolls.

...And also shut these battery plants that were built on taxpayers money in promise of jobs.

It is called "the layoff", so it kinda comes with the territory, for better or worse

OP, If you're new here the only real value of this forum is when something has already happened / occurred.

Within the last 3 years, there have been almost weekly predictions of when layoffs are happening. The poster just makes a blanket statement, offers no other information or source, but implies it is absolutely certain.

And literally none of them ever pan out.

As far as I can tell, you will know about layoffs when they're announced in the media because every reduction (as far as I can remember) in the last three years have followed that pattern. News outlet announces it -> Company confirms in email -> people panic -> cuts happen.

Additionally, it's worth noting that a few frequent posters here don't even work for the company. Maybe they used to and got cut and instead of moving on, decide to spend their free time railing against how terrible a place F is and crowding this forum with irrelevant info.
