2024 Merit Increase

So what do we think the merit increases this year will look like? On one hand feel like they might be decent to put salaried on par with UAW increases, but economic factors might say otherwise…

LL5 told us to expect 2-3%. Which is a payout in Biden's America.

I have never heard of 0% raises unless I walked you out the door. Most raises are released to GSR during our meeting. If you are asking, maybe you need to find a new place to work. Since most people prefer fishing during the warmer months, are some of you a little early?

Exactly! Merit pot was sent out in recent email.

Per people leader's recent comments about AICP, due to UAW gains, future bonus will be reduced by 20% each year. If it was 10K for 2023, it will be 8K for 2025 as so on. This condition will apply for all those with more than 20 years in service, to discourage them to continue in the company. Also, their salary increases will be no more than 1% with the excuse that they salary must be closer to the midpoint between percentiles. The extra money will be used to give hefty bonus to "young" people, including LL6's and LL5's. The goal is to reduced through attrition all those "expensive" individuals regardless of their past contribution to the company. Ford wants to develop what is called a Zombie nation with only YES people. Boston Consulting Group proposed this plan to JF and per comments from current Chief Engineer, his goal is to replace all "senior" engineers with "smart" and "talented" millennials. He is on a mission to "fire" all those one with more than 20 yrs in service. He only wants to keep his loyalist LL's regardless of time in service. Same approach is also implemented by Chassis Chief Eng who is known as an as* li---r.
JF only wants to hear how great RTO is for the company and to "boost" morale.

Where's the lie

They try to keep you near the middle of your pay grade salary range. Below the mid, you get a bit higher raise. Above the m7d, you get a bit lower raise.

It's not a lot to begin with, but that's where the wiggle room is.

I was looking through my merit percentages over the years. In the early years, 8%-10% was not unheard of. Then we hit on rough times with merits 2%-4% and sometimes 0%. That caused a shift to the 3% average for the remaining decades, regardless of good or bad times. Had I not been pension-eligible, I would have been long gone.

What do you think they'll pay the UAW and executives with? Besides, when they change to bonus target by saying 90 percent is the new 100 percent, you can't possibly even guess what you'll get for a bonus. GSR's are the company's whipping boy.

What ever your merit increase was is not going to you. Your increases is going to UAW worker. UAW cares, protects and fights for their people. Salary employees don’t have anyone that cares about them. Salary employees are nothing more than a company ATM. When ever they need money, just fire the appropriate number of salary employed and send their job to Mexico. Problem solved.

I'm not expecting anything really. I do the work because I enjoy it. The instant that stops being the case I'll be looking (always casually am looking). As long as I have to trust my livelihood to people that make decisions multiple levels above me I'll approach it this way. I don't trust any of them. Town Hall Guy on here has the perspective that they are shepherds leading the flock...this is a victim mentality and he/she/ or bot is one of them. Cling to the coat tails and hope you fall in favor. Nope. Do the work enjoy it or don't - if the swamp becomes too thick...just leave. Simple as that. If you can't leave...then I guess too bad for you...suffer and let someone else determine your future. There are some people that think their employer runs their life....what a sad state to be in.

The company only gave UAW large increases because they had to. I don’t expect the same for salary.
