You must be counting divestments as layoffs. Headcount will go down a few thousands with Altera divestment.
510 in CPM pool already. Slowly growing
Stop spreading fake news. Intel actually hiring aggressively. Last quarter Intel added 5k jobs. This quarter another 4-5k jobs.
@1ync: What team, SMG?
My team has been keeping hiring. So far 3 new ppl in 2024
Anyone who has not planned for this is a damned fool, especially in this environment. I learned my lesson the hard way a decade ago and almost lost everything.

Or GB to BB conversions.
I doubt that. What I’m hearing is smaller cuts in specific groups to meet their 2024 budgets

There is nothing worse for morale than continuous layoffs not knowing who or when.
You can't plan your life not knowing if you can keep paying your mortgage and car payments, and losing health insurance is catastrophic.
Let's hope so, this death of 1000 cuts is terrible. The problem is we need to get rid of 30-40k people to right-size the company. No one has the stomach for that.
I think people have saying this before. The $1.1+ billion charge for restructuring that was taken in Q4 23 will pay for it. 10k is only about a quarter of the headcount that needs to be cut to right size the company.
