He also claimed that there would be an increase in hiring in the US because of an increasing in hiring in India which "saves money". So with his logic, if we keep off shoring jobs to India, there will not only be no worry about layoffs, but our job increases in the US will be astronomical.

That would be because "leadership" has this odd quirk in which they lie. "leadership" has gotten so good at lying that it sounds normal. These are the good people we work for.
But we only like employees from a specific other country so that doesn’t sound too DEI of us.
